Great tour of the museum and chapel

I would have enjoyed the experience more if I could have understood our guide. He was very knowledgeable but spoke too quickly with a thick accent

We booked a tour in the Vatican via GetyourGuide, the tour was provided by Enjoy Rome. The tour made Maire-Lena who had really great and interesting facts for us. The tour lasted over 3 hours. After a short walk we went to the visitor entrance check in the Vatican - group tours should have priority here, so the check-in was relatively quick and did not have to queue up at the normal line. It is advisable to wear suitable clothing even at high temperatures, inform yourself in advance about the dress code in St. Peter's Basilica. St. Peter's Basilica (which we explored ourselves at the end) and the Sistine Chapel were explained separately in advance. Later on. The tour through the museum can hardly be enjoyed by the many tour groups and sometimes there is only a little time to concentrate on certain things as the museum guards send you straight on. In the Sistine Chapel then unfortunately the disappointment. Before entering you are advised NOT TO SPEAK and to be quiet - - well, if it weren't for the other groups and the at least 3 museum guards were their radios on stop volume. Unfortunately, in the room itself, you are crammed in the middle like a flock of sheep - take this quite literally - you then have far too little space and, above all, far too little time to let this incredible and historic hall only begin to look at you. A thanks goes out again to our guide who, as mentioned, has already informed us very well about the chapel in advance and went into detail on display board. In St. Peter's Basilica itself, it was a bit more relaxed and with the plan we received you could find your way around quite well, but here too you should plan a lot of time - there is a lot to discover. Conclusion: You can book here with peace of mind, the tour pays off !!!! Negative to mention are unfortunately only the one-sided headphones that we got for better understanding - normal headphones for both ears would be much better here apart from that you have to concentrate very much because despite all efforts the German pronunciation was partly laborious to understand as long as the ambient noise was also very noticeable. Another negative aspect - but here Enjoy Rome can't help it - I think it's a pity that in such unique sights you are simply pushed through as if on an assembly line, without even having the slightest amount of time to let what you see seem - the main thing is that you deserve from it and not too little. The Vatican itself is definitely worth a visit !!!!

Thanks to Google Maps, we were dropped off in the wrong area, and almost missed the tour. After getting to the correct destination, our guide did a wonderful job of explaining things before, especially the Sistine Chapel, which was chaos once we got into the room.
