La visita al Frantoio Rosso Ipogeo da la sensación de recorrer un viaje en el tiempo: desde el principio cuando la Puglia estaba sumida del mar hasta llegar al siglo pasado, cuando se producía aceite de oliva. El recorrido parte de la observación de los fósiles marinos envueltos en la roca calcaria, y recorre los siglos tardíos medievales cuando se producía y exportaba aceite brillante en Europa. Se comprenderán las fases de producción y los equipos utilizados en la época, para luego concluir con el último período del Frantoio, cuando se convirtió la producción de lucerna y aceite lampante, en aceite alimenticio.

Very, very small. Guided tour with headphones in 10 minutes. There were some nice pictures and a person. A good picture of how things used to go.
So much more than we expected! We appreciated the owner's hard work and research to restore this underground oil mill into a museum. We especially enjoyed his passion for sharing the history with others. The olive oil tasting experience was educational and so delicious!
Great little tour and olive oil tasting at the end. The owner has great passion for olive oil and the making of it. If we were staying longer we would have gone to one of the evenings music events. Nice small tour size.
A beautiful way to bring back to life an old underground crusher. Let yourself be transported by the words of Giuseppe and Samantha in a hidden world that smells of truth and sacrifice and the final tasting teaches us to understand and recognize the different characteristics of 'oil.
