Fantastic day! Pedro was a great tour guide. Great scenery Good wine. Pedro is charming and knowledgeable about wine and the history of the Douro Valley wine
Hello! Thank you very much for your feedback. Your opinion is really important to us :) We are glad you enjoyed the tour and all the fantastic views of Douro Valley, as well as the knowledge Pedro provided :) The wine is one the highlights of course!
The day tour was exceptional. We had a private tour by the owner of the company, who was professional in every way and had a wealth of information to impart. There were many interesting features of this tour, from the magnificent views from Santa Luzia sanctuary, as well as the stunning church itself. Walking through the old towns and enjoying a typical Portuguese lunch (which was delicious) accompanied by local wine, were all amazing features of this tour. We cannot recommend this company highly enough and have already recommended them to our friends who will be visiting Porto soon.
This was a really memorable experience booked after having been on the Douro Valley tour offered by João and Pedro (I would highly recommend that also). Having tried wine from the region before visiting Porto we were keen to find out more about the Vinho Verde region. The tour did not disappoint, the views were spectacular from the viewpoints in Ponte de Lima and Viana do Castelo and made you really appreciate the most amazing Portuguese landscape, it;s really such a special area of the county. João was a fantastic guide, he personalised the experience and took time to get to know us and share his knowledge of the region. The town of Ponte de Lima was beautiful and I left feeling like I had seen part of the country not as famous as Porto. I'd recommend this experience if you are in Porto and also doing it with João and Pedro, they are both such great hosts and when I come back to Porto I will be getting in touch to arrange further tours. Highly recommend both the company and doing this tour if you're in Porto. Thanks for such an amazing time!
If you're looking for something a little different, this is the tour for you! One of my favorite parts about my trip to Portugal. I've known several people who have visited the Porto area, but no one who has been up to the Minho region. If you are looking for delicious food, authentic culture, and spectacular views, this will be the perfect day. We were the only two people on our trip (I think this is a newer offering/probably overshadowed by the Douro trips) and our guide taught us so much - we learned more from him about the Douro valley than we did visiting the actual valley with another company! Lots of knowledge about wine all over the country, but also about the regions themselves. And unlike our Douro trip, we saw very few if any other tourists. Ponte De Lima is a hidden gem and one we never would have discovered on our own. Such a cute town with a fun history. Make sure you are an adventurous eater (our lunch was tripe - which we loved) because you will get a true Portuguese meal. In my opinion - a must-do if you are wanting to get a taste of the real Portugal with an experienced guide, in beautiful towns.
We learned much more about northern Portugal than expected, The region is beautiful and historic, plus good food and wine. A highly recommended day tour.
