The golf cart tour is the way to see Versailles. Skip the line entry to the palace AND skip the line access to the golf carts! Meng is a wonderful guide interjecting humor with her broad knowledge of the palace and its kings! The golf carts are the way to see the gardens! The gardens are huge and it would be toooo much to try to walk and see it all. Lunch on site at La Flottile was a nice stop with transportation on the Petite Train (small extra charge). The train also takes you to other sites I.e. Petite Trianon, Grand Trianon, and Marie Antionette’s Village! Can’t say enough about Meng, our very knowledgable guide for the palace and gardens who also helped set us up for the train and other self guided parts of our adventure into the past! Meng was amazing! A wonderful day overall!
Versailles is wonderful and the gardens are huge. My husband and I could have never been able to walk that much. The golf cart tour was perfect for us. We were able to see much more than we ever could have done on our own. Plus we were taken to places we definitely would have missed. Our guide Yichen was knowledgeable, fun and very kind. We enjoyed our time very much. It is a bit expensive though. My only regret we were unable to see the trianon because it was too far for us to walk and is not included in this tour. But overall I highly recommend and we had a wonderful time.
Flexible timing, we’ve changed date several times which is nice when you’re on a vacation. The Guide speaks English fluently and was knowledgeable about history. However, the angle of the guide wasn’t what we’ve hoped for. We went to see Versailles to view the architectural and artistic aspect of it in return we got lecture on Frensh history and colonization and the grotesque reality of how the palace was build (depressing angle). I was with my two teenager kids so this did not excite them and they immediately felt bored and started talking and joking. The Guide wasn’t responsive and focused on continuing the tour in a lecturer manner over looking the overall mood of the teenagers. So in sum if you are looking for historical factual guide and you are group of serious adults the guide will be good for you. If you are with kids or teenager or looking for a more artistic fun tour this is not for you.
Thibault was a fantastic guide, we highly recommend this tour. Being able to see more of the grounds via golf cart was worth it.

Gorgeous experience at Versailles! Giovanni was an expert and answered all of our questions! She is an expert and we gained much knowledge from touring with her. The Gardens were the highlight of our tour, be sure to take water with you! Highly recommend.
Our family had a wonderful tour with Yichen. He was so knowledgeable about the Palace and Gardens. He was wonderful with our children. And great at taking many family photos in perfect locations. We really enjoyed his level of detail on locations and historical facts. We were all impressed with a wonderful day! You definitely need a guide, bc u will not see the hidden gardens without a guide. Also highly recommend the golf cart. There r so many things to see and not enough time if you are walking.
We had the most wonderful tour of Versailles with Giovanna through Liv Tours. A three hour tour of the gardens and the Palace. Giovanna is an amazing historian who made history come alive. What an amazing experience.
