Perhaps I expected too much after an excellent guided tour in Venice, but I was generally disappointed. First, the meeting point instructions said to arrive at 30 minutes prior to 10 but the address was just a blank metal door with no signage, so I was kind of freaking out until someone showed up to open shop at exactly 10 and revealed we were at the correct City Rome Tours location. Then they walked us around the corner to Vatican Hill Tours, where we got a green sticker to put on our shirts and, after sitting around for awhile, were told to wait outside for a 10:30 tour. We were lead off to the museum after about 14 other people joined the tour. It was supposed to be in English, but we could understand about 10% of what the guide said for the next 2 hours pushing through crowds in the heat. I think it was mostly the museum provided radio, which was about as useful as, and had similar audio qualities as, those tin can and string telephones for kids: high pitched and distorted. Coupled with a very strong Italian accent and the guide relying on the microphone (talking quietly while facing away from the group), we would have been much better off just taking a self-paced tour with access to the Sistine chapel and St Peter’s, and reading about anything that interested us along the way.
The tour was organised, made the chaos of the Vatican easy and our guide Ella was so knowledgeable and paced the day well. The Sistine chapel is easy to navigate solo and we were given tickets to the Basilica and walked straight through. That was the highlight. It’s incredible, a mass was on and it was very spiritual. I would recommend this tour.
Thank you for your kind review! We're delighted to hear that Ella's knowledge and pacing helped make your Vatican visit enjoyable and stress-free. We're especially glad you had such a memorable experience in St. Peter's Basilica during the mass. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour!
Our tour was canceled because you hadn’t received the appropriate approvals. We have requested a FULL REFUND.
We’d like to review this matter, but we cannot find your booking in our records. Please contact us directly with your reservation details so we can investigate and provide further assistance.
Very crowded and not proper washroom availability and maintenance. The air condition was quite poor, and the visiting rooms/places were not organized at all. The staff are exhausted and not cooperative at all. Terrible service. Don't even try.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be to visit the Vatican Museums during busy periods, especially when crowd levels are high. Please note that facilities such as the restrooms, air conditioning, room organization, and the museum staff are managed directly by the Vatican Museums and are unfortunately outside of our control as the tour operator. We always strive to provide the best possible service before and during the check-in process, and we regret that your overall visit was affected by circumstances beyond our responsibility. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards,
Really informative and easy tour. Ended with the Sistine chapel and St. Peters. Our tour guide Stephanie was witty and very knowledgeable. She was a pleasure. Paying for a tour guide in addition to entry is a must, you learn so much from the tour guide.
We had a problem with booking at another operator and these staff were very helpful in helping. I give reasonable for sympathy. However, the visit is too expensive for the quality: very fast, little ability to observe what we went through and in the end the guide followed with another group to a part of the visit to which we were supposedly not entering and left a part of the group behind. Experience not to recommend.
They save us of a horrible experience with another agency. Took the time to help us first and then to solve them with a great package deal. I will forever grateful with all of this agency.
It was so good to tour without ever waiting
Wonderful experience, very polite service.
Fantastic guys! I was late and they were able to get us in and accommodated us. Thank you! Will absolutely book through you guys again!
