El Valle de las Mariposas en Rodas es un parque natural sereno donde miles de polillas tigre de Jersey se reúnen cada verano, creando un impresionante espectáculo visual. Ubicado en un exuberante valle verde lleno de rutas de senderismo a la sombra, arroyos y pequeñas cascadas, este ecosistema único ofrece un escape de la experiencia típica de la playa. Los visitantes pueden disfrutar de paseos panorámicos mientras observan mariposas descansando sobre árboles y rocas, y el histórico monasterio de Kalopetra agrega un toque de cultura a la visita. A veces el monasterio está cerrado por lo que no nos hacemos responsables de ello. Ideal para los amantes de la naturaleza, familias y fotógrafos, el valle es un destino obligado en Rodas, especialmente desde mediados de junio hasta principios de septiembre. El valle cierra a finales de octubre. Se abre el 1 de mayo, así que reserve entre mayo y octubre.

Nuestra excursión es muy única porque dejamos a la gente en la entrada norte del valle, haciéndolo más relajado y más completo porque ves todo el valle en lugar de solo la parte inferior que la mayoría de los competidores detienen y la gente tal vez llegue al medio si están en forma.
Este es un monumento histórico ahora una iglesia ortodoxa, que data de hace 2500 años. Comenzó como diosa Deméter la diosa de cuatro estaciones. Caballeros Italianos construyeron un monasterio católico. El siglo pasado fue convertido a ortodoxo cristiano. Mini museo también en el lugar con algunos artefactos.

I want all tourists who rely on this agency to be on guard; I booked an excursion, paying and registering for the Valley of the Butterflies, received all the instructions for the appointment with the name and photo of the driver and car, we waited in vain for 40 minutes. We called them, but they hung up and said they did not understand. Thanks to the help of hotel staff who called for us several times, they gave us another appointment - but the driver was already at the arrival location - we intercepted another minibus that, after discussions and phone calls to the office, allowed us to go with them. Zero professionalism. Be wary and do not trust them, we thank Tomas who was kind.

Beautiful nature. Not so many butterflies although they claim June is their "season". Too crowded, I am afraid it's not good for the spot and it's inhabitants. People with disabilities or young kids should keep in mind part of the route is hilly. The cafe at the entrance/exit is amazing and maybe that is why RAI UNO made a film about it. Unfortunately the monastery at the top and the exhibition were closed.
