Our 3-hour Uros Floating Islands tour normally includes the visit to two different floating islands, as described in our website and tour information. The first one is usually a family island, where our guide and the local residents explain the history, lifestyle, traditions and culture of the Uros people. The second stop is generally a main/commercial island, where visitors have the option to buy hot or cold drinks, snacks or simply enjoy another area of the floating islands. This second island is included because, on the first family island, there are usually no facilities to purchase drinks or snacks. Many travelers appreciate this possibility, especially before returning to Puno. However, we understand that every traveler has different expectations, and we are truly sorry that this second stop was not enjoyable for you personally. Regarding the tour duration, the return time is always approximate. Depending on weather conditions, lake conditions, number of visitors and the departure time, the tour may finish slightly earlier or later. For the afternoon tour, especially during this season, we sometimes return a little earlier because it gets dark earlier than in other months. Even so, the complete program is planned with the visit to both islands. At Puno Tours, we take all feedback seriously. Your comment helps us improve how we explain the purpose of each stop, so passengers can better understand the difference between the cultural family island and the main island with basic services.
