Second time we did a tour with this organisation and it didn't dissapoint. Marty has a wealth of knowledge on so many different subjects! It's an absolute joy to spend time in his city, while he points out all the interesting history and the quirky bits. We loved walking around in the university area and were very happy with suggestions for food and drink. The visit to the Botanical Gardens was very special, as walking around with a gardener in such a place adds a whole other layer of interest.
What a great tour. Marti is a lovely guide with an amazing knowledge of Belfast and it's history. If you want a tour that shows you more than the usual places, Marti is your go to! Highly recommended.
Marti gave us the history behind Belfast and the troubles time. It was quite informative. He also explained what plants were what. He is very knowledgeable. At the end of the tour he aent me an email with places U could get nore information on Belfast and it's history.
Thank you happy to hear you enjoyed our wee walk together. And yes being in the University and Ulster Musuem area. I like to share the complete history of Belfast, as we go for a stroll through the Botanical gardens discovering it collection of plants from the 1820s. And of course of course afterwards I like to send you further information to help you a little more. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
As a family, we had a custom bespoke private tour of Belfast's Botanic Gardens with our tour guide Marti. It was not only very informative but a truly magical experience, as our guide brought his vast historical and horticultural knowledge to life. Our family departed the gardens feeling truly inspired and realised what a unique and gifted person we had just spent time with. Thank you Marti !
Thank you for your kind words. And am happy to read you enjoyed our time together for a bespoke version of this walking experience mainly in the Botanical Gardens.
Unfortunately due to a missed connection in London, we weren’t able to make to Belfast until the day after we had booked this tour. Marti tried very hard to offer alternatives to our missed tour but it just didn’t work out due to our travel schedule. Marti offered up suggestions for us to consider while visiting other areas of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We plan on returning to NI and Belfast so that we can take this highly recommended tour and to meet Marti in person.
I thank you for your kind words. And do my best to help visitors who may have had the issues you all experienced. And I'm happy to read you found the information I shared with you helped for the rest of your travels on this wee Island. And look forward to meeting you next time your in Belfast. And again I thank you for taking the time to leave me your recommendations of this experience. Cheerio for now ... Marti
Marti is a true local gem with an insightful depth of knowledge few guides possess. If you want to know the full history of Ireland , Marti is your man. If you want to know more about who came and when, Marti knows. If you are a plant and nature lover, let Marti guide you through the park! Plus he provides additional materials after the tour to further enhance what you've already learned. He's a character, but a true Irish gent!
Why thank you. I always strive to help visitors understand this wee island a bit better. And on this tour I have great aids in the form of the Ulster Musuem (once I I've share the story) and of course the Botanical Gardens where I work and its always a pleasure to share the love we the staff have for our place of work. And after the srowl into the city all adds up to a better view of Belfast. I thank you for your kind words. And hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels here.
I have taken Marti walks in the past so a bit bias, what ever Marti talks about he does it with love and passion. I walked and seen art he knows it, he can even find you a good pint. He can walked you through the streets an amaze you with the wealth of knowledge on so many subjects, art, history, the troubles, the eclectic little pieces of “things” you will get it if you walk the Marti. I got a sneak peak of his Garden, Museum walk today. This is Marti in his element he has a horticultural background and an awesome way of discussing plants, birds, history, and the life in Belfast. Remember he is a Belfast local and does carry a Belfast accent 😂 he will always leave you with something to talk about or ponder over. Thanks Marti
Thank you and it was good to see you again on my latest walking tour. And as you know I like to help those who join me find the city they are looking for. And being a local gardener I'm happy to read you enjoyed walking through the Botanic Gardens with me. And yes taking visitors to the Ulster Musuem gives them first hand insight into the stories I share with them before we enter. Thank you for taking the time to leave me your review. And maybe see you sometime in future for another adventure along the Marti Way 😀 .
Marti the guide has a wealth of knowledge to share concerning plants (we love to visit gardens on our trips), as well as the long history of Belfast, how the city and politics have gotten to where it is today. This was also a goal of our visit, to hear and see it through a locals eyes. He was gracious enough to meet us at the train station we were returning to so we could start the tour 15 minutes early.
Thank you and I happy to read you enjoyed our time together in the Botanic Gardens. And that hearing the story of Belfast from a local helped you understand this part of the island better. Which when passing through the musuem helped you even more. And as for meeting you early well that worked out well too. And hope you enjoy the rest of your travels.
Marty gave us a beautiful tour of the Botanic gardens in Belfast. Told us all the ins and outs of the plants and flowers. For me it was nice to practice my knowledge of (a lot of )names of the plants. Marty has a wonderful way of telling stories about the history of the Botanic gardens and Belfast in general. Unfortunately there was no time for the Belfast-tour but next time we sure will call Marty to show us around!
Thank you, and I'm happy to read you enjoyed the Botanic Gardens and that I helped you practice your horticultural knowledge. And look forward to welcoming you on one of my Eclectic Belfast Walking Tours next time.
Highly recommended this walking tour with Marti Malloy! Marti knows everything about Belfast and because he is a gardener as well, he knows all about the beautiful botanic gardens. Furthermore, it is a real likeable guy who will do his utmost to give you an unforgettable experience in Belfast.
Thank you I do my best to help visitors discover a very unique Belfast in its botanic gardens, a little history in the Ulster Musuem and of course as little about Queens University. As we meander into the city center. Really enjoyed your company and thank you for your glowing remarks about me as your guide. And maybe next time your over you'll take one of my other experiences 🙌
