La característica importante de Wat Lokayasutharam es una enorme imagen reclinada de Buda, llamada Phra Bhuddhasaiyart, que mira hacia el este. Fue construido con ladrillos y cemento en el estilo artístico del período medio de Ayutthaya. Tiene 37 metros de largo y 8 metros de alto. Hay otras impresionantes imágenes de Buda reclinado en Ayutthaya, pero esta parece ser la más grande.

Wat Mahathat fue uno de los templos más importantes de Ayutthaya. Entronizó las reliquias de Buda y fue la sede del Patriarca Supremo del budismo y, por lo tanto, el centro del budismo en el Reino de Ayutthaya.
En 1957, la cripta del Wat Ratchaburana fue saqueada y se robaron muchos artefactos preciosos como tabletas votivas, insignias reales doradas, gemas e imágenes de Buda. Los ladrones fueron capturados y algunos de los tesoros fueron recuperados. Un año después, el Departamento de Bellas Artes comenzó a excavar y restaurar el templo. El museo lleva el nombre de Chao Sam Phraya, rey de Ayutthaya en el siglo XV. Se exhiben varios miles de artículos que incluyen imágenes de Buda, tabletas votivas, artefactos de oro y otros tesoros recuperados de las criptas de varios templos.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram fue construido en 1630 por el rey Prasat Thong. Fue uno de los monumentos más grandiosos del Reino de Ayutthaya. El rey construyó el templo como un medio para ganar méritos budistas y como un monumento a su madre. Sus cenizas están consagradas en dos chedis cuadrados que flanquean el ubosot en el lado este del templo.
