Ubicada en la cima de una colina sobre la confluencia de dos ríos poderosos, la fortaleza de Kalemegdan tiene una historia rica y violenta. Marija gave us a brilliant three hour tour of Belgrade that felt both relaxed and full of insight. I had a one on one history tour with Tibor and it was outstanding. As a political scientist, Tibor had deep knowledge of the history and politics of Belgrade and Serbia. He used the city’s many sites to explain the history and because I was the only guest I had a great opportunity to ask many questions. This walking tour is soooo good. All the different neighborhoods, the architecture, the fortress, and the view of the rivers at sunset👌🏼. Plus Pedja was one of the best guides I have had anywhere. His knowledge of the history and culture was so impressive, and he added lots of personal stories and random interesting facts along the way. Had a marvellous walking tour of Belgrade with an outstanding, guide, Pedja. His knowledge of Serbian history was excellent and he combined this skilfully with unexpected stops at seemingly ordinary points, which I had previously walked by without noticing. He was able to link each site with a critical point in Serbia's tumultuous history. It also meant I got to understand the layout of the old city. Pedja was also kind and very generous with his time. He has inspired me to read more about the history of this region, but, meanwhile, gave me a university semester course in 2 hours, including over a very good coffee.
