Ubud Bali Conductor ( Bali Custom Tour )

Martin was the highlight of our Ubud trip – proper legend. We booked a custom Ubud driver tour with East Bali Tour and got incredibly lucky with Martin. From the moment he picked us up he was friendly, punctual, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. The roads around Ubud are no joke, but his driving was calm, safe and confident the entire day. We never felt rushed or like we were being herded between tourist spots. What made it special was how he actually listened. He adjusted the day to suit us as a couple, threw in a couple of quieter local spots we wouldn’t have found ourselves, and gave solid recommendations without the usual hard sell. Lunch suggestion was spot on too. He’s got that rare combo of being professional while still feeling like a genuinely nice bloke who enjoys showing people around his island. We even managed a quick photo together at one of the stops (the one with the big wings mural – Martin’s the thumbs-up legend in the middle). Couldn’t have asked for a better vibe. If you want a private driver in Ubud who actually cares about giving you a good day instead of just clocking kilometres, book Martin. We’d happily use him again tomorrow. Top marks.

Had a great experience during my East Bali tour. The driver Martin was punctual, kind, and made the whole day smooth and comfortable. He was reliable, easy to communicate with, and helped everything run on time without feeling rushed. Highly recommended for anyone exploring East Bali.

We contacted our driver 24hours before our tour to confirm our arrangement and indicate the sights we would visit and the route. We thought the eight listed and suggested was too many and the route too long given the traffic and roads in Bali. We wanted to half this and keep to the northern part of Bali. We sent a google map with our plan and a request for feedback on if this was sensible. We didn't hear anything back. Ten hours later I reached out again. Eventually we heard that the driver had family problems but would be sending a family member to cover. This story changed a bit during our journey. On the day a friendly young driver turned up (either nephew or cousin). He spoke good english and the car was in excellent condition. We began by asking had our request been passed on. Could we check that the direction and timing was sensible. We asked this before we left the hotel but the driver seemed non-plussed and dismissive of our request to look at the map together before we set out. We had chosen four main sights listed and a textile gallery all following a anti-clockwise route ending back at our hotel. Immediately we got push back. Why did we want to go to the gallery. It wasn't a main tourist site. He thought the first temple on the list a waste of time so we took his advice and headed straight for the next temple before it became too crowded. All the sites were geared for tourists and instagram. All had touts as well as entrance fees. We got push back on the place we suggested for lunch and went with the driver suggestion where he obviously had an arrangement. The food was good. Apparently the lunch he was given was not what he wanted so the driver requested that we make a longer stop so he could have more lunch at the next sight. We agreed to stay half an hour at yet another over priced, instagram tourist place. At the start of our journey we said that the most important stop for us was the textile museum. We got pushback and questioned as to why. Not great.

Thanks to our driver for this amazing day! The driver was kind, pleasant, friendly, punctual, the car was clean, the driver speaks good English, and we hope he will soon speak Russian. We recommend this company for exploring the fabulous island of Bali.

We had an amazing experience with Martin, who was our driver in Ubud for three days. He took us to the north of Bali, where we visited one of the most stunning waterfalls on the island—Nung Nung Waterfall. During our trip to the east, he showed us beautiful temples and equally spectacular waterfalls, making every stop memorable. Martin was always attentive, incredibly punctual, and shared interesting insights about the places we visited. He is also an excellent driver, making us feel safe and comfortable at all times, and he speaks very good English, which made communication easy throughout the trip. On our last day, he drove us to Uluwatu Temple and then to our next hotel, making everything smooth and stress-free. We highly recommend Martin if you’re looking for a reliable driver and want to customize your own tour around Bali. Martin, thank you so much—we truly appreciate everything. We hope to be back soon!

Dedek is amazing, he showed us the less touristy places, we visited two waterfalls and had the best swim ever. Dedek explained local customs and we saw so many things!!!
