Fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, uno de los sitios esenciales en Tulum son sus ruinas mayas, ubicadas en un acantilado frente al Mar Caribe; Con cálidas noches estrelladas y aguas cristalinas de color turquesa, es la única zona arqueológica que se encuentra a la orilla del mar. Es el sitio más fotogénico de la región y, quizás, de todo el país.

We were told the ride to Tulum would take 1 hour and 45 minutes. In actuality, it took 3 hours. We were also told we would be at a rest stop after about an hour but I had to ask the driver to stop after 2 1/2 hours so that I could use the facilities. Most everyone else on the van needed to use the facilities as well. The van was poorly air-conditioned and my estimate is that it was about 80° inside. Adding to the problem is that, although the description says we will be well hydrated because water is provided, no water was provided during the 3-hour drive. Instead, we received one bottle of lukewarm water when we arrived at Tulum. Once there, we were led through the gift shop before the tour even began. Then, our guide walked with us for 45 minutes, and then gave us 1 hour of free time. All together, a disappointing experience. Definitely not what I was led to expect by the description.
Hola thank you so much for your comments For us its very important to know what Is happening on the excursions, im checking with the team about what happened with the points you mentioned and see if there is something we can fix any issue since weather, traffic are external things we can not control specially here but I taking notes of all the things mentioned specially because i dont want happen again or miss understand some details important for this excursion specially when we have people coming from Cancun hotels like you
This was a private tour for our family of four. We were picked up at our hotel and driven straight to the ruins. Our tour guide, Jose Manuel shared with us lots of information about the region while on our drive there. Once at the ruins, we toured a small museum and he shared more information about the Mayan people. His explanations on the different sites within the walls was very informative. We spent just the right amount of time able to explore and understand the importance of Tulum to the Mayan people.
