Tour Yunque y Piñones Caminata Coma y aventúrese con un local; San Juan

The first trip for my mother and me to Puerto Rico, and we had a fantastic experience. Fabiola was a great and knowledgeable guide who took us to some brilliant spots around the island, including river and waterfall swimming locations, beautiful beaches, and great local food spots. She was able to answer all of our questions, and we had a lot, while also giving very in depth insight into the history and culture of the island. I would absolutely recommend booking this experience as a great way to experience Puerto Rico and its beautiful landscapes.

We had a great time. It rained and rocks were slippery, but Sean made sure we got to the top of the mountain to see the top of the waterfall. Small group and Sean was very accommodating!

I've hesitated to write this review, but really feel people need to know before they book. We were so excited to take this tour, because of the perfect 5 star reviews, which is why we were shocked that there were several problematic things that were major issues for us and that the tour company probably should review/revise in their listing. First, our tour started at least 30 minutes late. Our guide John tried to make up the time at 86 miles/hour on the way to El Yunque, which was a little unnerving. We went on a back road to El Yunque and we stopped just short of the "official" park, because the guides do not have a permit to go into the park. I suspect this is why they say they don't do the "touristy" sites. We parked on the road and basically the guide pointed to the rocks above and below as the "off the beaten path" site. Maybe this is a cultural difference in terms, but "hiking" is a very different activity from scaling rocks. We were presented the option of a steep ravine wet rock scramble or a less steep wet rock scramble to the small pool next to the car. There were no hikes through the forest or other activities, just pulling off on the side of the road -- which you can do yourself for less than $160 a person. Within about 5 minutes, there were two other tour groups there as well scrambling on the rocks and sharing the small pool, so this is not some kind of exclusive site. There was no cliff jumping, unless you just count that as the nearest rock you're on. At one point, the group was separated with several members going their separate ways and based maybe on the comfort level of people there. One man just laid down to take a nap. Several of us asked John about the hiking and he told us that this was the hiking and said we'd had the choice of going down the ravine instead. We just dropped it. I would not say we "saw" El Yunque at all, and this was the most disappointing part of the trip. We were told almost nothing about the park, its history, its sacredness, etc. Also, at this point, John was drinking the sangria he had in a cooler in the back of his car. Our travel companions said they had toured with him yesterday and he was drinking that day as well. To be fair, while some in our group were also disappointed, some seemed happy. For the second part of the tour, Pinones, things were better. This feels like the "real" Puerto Rico, and the stops we made to food kiosks and beaches were wonderful. Again, not a lot of conversation about the history or significance of the area, but that's not really advertised as being part of the tour. At this point, John had several more drinks and a shot. Also at this point, it came out that various people had paid different amounts for the tour -- some much less than us. I am not sure how that was possible, but we were definitely feeling like we had overpaid at that point. We did eat at a local restaurant, which was good. John gave an excellent summary at that point on PR history. After, we decided to get an uber back to our hotel rather than ride back with John. In full transparency, I did not raise the issue with John at that time, because it is not my policy to confront people who have been drinking unless I have to. The remaining couple on the tour actually joined us in our uber, so I know that we were not overreacting. Overall, to be honest, this was disappointing. It was our last full day in PR and we were really hoping to get more out of the El Yunque experience in particular. Maybe if we'd had a different guide, too, idk. I think with a little better description of what is happening in El Yunque, the tour will be more as described. But I also think the company should look at a policy about drinking and driving.

I had Rafy has my tour guide and his personality made the tour incredibly fun. He picked a group of us up in a van, it could have been maybe 10 or more people in the group. Along the way he shared some knowledge of the places and he always finished with the tag line “Thank you, Rafy!” We started to catch on saying it later on 😂 By the time we got to the locations, there were other groups of people there so I’d say it wasn’t too crowded or empty. I chickened out of the first jump since I never cannon balled into water before, while mostly everyone else went in I swam back. I built the courage to do the second jump even though I wanted to back out, it was too much effort to walk back down since we did a little bit of climbing. It was fun to do it and next time I’ll remember to plug my nose, haha. Then the group went to this area where it was like a water slide. So I hit the side of my face along the way down because I weigh like 2 apples and being that light weight I felt rocket launched and lost stability. Turned out no skin damage, just sore. I appreciate Rafy checking in on me, he did say he was a medic as one of the many jobs he does. THANK YOU RAFY!! 🙏🏾😄✌🏾 Overall, I enjoyed the experience as it was my first time in a rainforest and I’m a city girl. This got me to do something out of my comfort zone. The tour took about 5-6 hours and included a food/bathroom stop, the rainforest, then food and beach hangout and lastly dropped off

I can't even express how much I loved this tour! Kenyon was an excellent guide. He offered options throughout the hike based on my abilities versus my mom's. He was very attentive and knowledgeable. The river Caves, waterfalls, and cliff jumping were incredible. The next stop at the beach was gorgeous! We had empenadas and great local beer at a beachside kiosk (there were several other kiosks to chose from as well). Kenyon didn't rush us and allowed us to relax and take everything in. I'll definitely be coming back and hopefully doing a tour with him again in the future!

Today we had the most amazing time with Alexis! He showed us the best time from the minute he picked us up to the minute he dropped us off! Being able to experience the island this way was really special and a lot of that came with Alexis. Not only we got to see the most beautiful beach, a great hike and yummy food but the pictures and videos we have that Alexis took and sent are PERFECT 🩷 Highly highly recommend to anyone wanting to see La isla 🇵🇷

What an amazing day!! Airam made the entire experience so memorable. We travel extensively and tour guides are the backbone to every trip. He was above and beyond one of our favorite guides. The cliff jumps were amazing. My 10 and 13 yr old learned so much, we felt safe the entire tour. Gorgeous day, gorgeous island!
