David made our visit to Zipaquirá an unforgettable experience. From the first moment he was very kind, attentive, and always willing to share with enthusiasm the history, culture, and special corners of his town. You can tell the affection and pride he feels for Zipaquirá, and that makes the tour much more authentic and meaningful. Furthermore, he never made us feel rushed; he gave us the time to enjoy each place on the itinerary calmly and at our own pace. Thank you, David, for your dedication and your warmth. Without a doubt, a 10/10 experience! Highly recommended.
We had a nice day overall, but unfortunately the experience did not match the tour description or many of the reviews. Our guide was very kind and pleasant, but this felt much more like a transportation service than a guided tour. According to the description, the tour includes explanations at the historic salt ovens, a behind-the-scenes visit to Zipaquirá’s only craft brewery with information about the brewing process, and an explanation of the traditional salt-cooking techniques at the restaurant. None of those guided experiences happened during our tour. We were simply dropped off at each location with little to no interpretation/explanation. The Salt Cathedral itself was incredible, and the restaurant was excellent, but we did not receive the educational or guided experience that was advertised. Many of the reviews mention a guide named David who provided extensive commentary and explanations throughout the day. We had a different guide, who was very friendly, but the experience was clearly not the same. If you’re booking this expecting a true guided tour with historical and cultural insights, you may want to confirm in advance who your guide will be and exactly what’s included. We still enjoyed the destinations, but we were disappointed that the tour did not deliver the experience described in the listing.
We found it to be a great experience. David is a great person and a very good guide. He has shown us the best places in Zipaquira and always with a smile. A new friend, without a doubt.
One of the highlights of our trip! David was exceptionally professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, making the tour feel personalized, engaging, and truly unique. Zipaquirá is an absolute must-see, and the Salt Cathedral was the perfect finishing touch to an already amazing experience. A special thanks to Don Orlando, our driver, who was equally wonderful and added to the enjoyment of the day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
David and Valentina are amazing people and guides. The salt Cathedral was spectacular, and was made better by visiting the salt ovens in the Salario restaurant, and the Pie de cumbra brewery next door where brewmaster Andres shared his passion with us. Coffee tinto, and local desserts really topped off the experience for us. This is the way to see a country, it's culture and it's people. Find time to spend with David and Valentina as they guide you through Zipaquira and all the town has to offer outside Bogota.
Thanks to David, we were able to live an incredible experience on our trip through Colombia, made us feel like a family with a lot of willingness to take us to know the places and it wasn't explaining everything
This tour is definitely worth it if you can make the time for it! The Salt Cathedral and Zipaquira are unique and definitely worth the tour/visit and it is only enhanced by the guide David. He showed us around his hometown and was very informative and accommodating, will definitely reach out the next time we are in the area!
Safe travel to and from the destination, the salt cathedral is a must see, but what really made this experience very memorable was travelling with David and his girlfriend - super friendly people with a lot of knowledge, spoke great English and were very proud of their town. The brewery tour followed by lunch onsite was delicious, and the salt oven was very cool to see.
David took care to think of all the little details to make this day trip from Bogota memorable. His passion for sharing his home town and culture with us made us feel like we were getting a tour from a friend.
The guide was excellent and made us the way very enjoyable and fun, we explained very well the places visited. Thank you David. Nice to meet you.
