El faro fue construido en 1891. Durante 27 años, tres faros trabajaron en esta ubicación remota, asegurando que la luz funcionara bien y se comunicara con los barcos a través de varios sistemas de códigos. El faro todavía tiene su construcción original con una maravillosa escalera y accesorios de madera. La linterna sigue funcionando después de haber tenido más de tres fuentes de luz diferentes a lo largo de su historia. La torre se convirtió en operación automática en 1919. Las cabañas y los establos de los guardianes forman una parte intrínseca del recinto del faro.

Lovely experience! Peter was a fabulous guide. He managed to get the right mix of informative, helpful and fun while also giving some space to just enjoy things at one’s own pace. The trip is customizable, but to get the best experience, be prepared to do a little bit of walking. Our driver, Paul, was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable. The Mercedes van was very clean & comfortable as well. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour with our guide, Peter. With an 11 hour tour & 2 teenage children, it could have been a tricky day, but we were all thoroughly entertained, saw so many great things and even learnt lots from Peter. If you book only 1 day trip from Melbourne, make it this one
It was a wonderful day. First of all, our guide Peter communicated with me the evening before and the morning of, so there were no questions about connecting with him for the day. He picked us up in a nice, clean, comfortable luxury van at the appointed time. He managed the day perfectly, avoiding the crush of crowds at the major sites. The Ocean Road is an amazing drive filled with awe inspiring views and overlooks. He also took us to a beautiful rain forest gully. He found a wonderful lunch spot for us, and he helped us find koalas in the wild and kangaroos! His knowledge of Australia, the road and the region added greatly to our day. It was a full day of amazing experiences. We highly recommend!
