Filipe picked us up at our Airbnb and showed us the most beautiful day! He was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. He customized the tour to our interests and even brought us to a lunch spot afterwards. He guided us in a fun hike and drove us around to see the most beautiful lakes and look outs. What a fabulous day!

We had an amazing day. Filipe as extremely knowledgeable and entertaining and we were amazed by the beauty of the Azores. We were looked after very well and did a wide variety of activities so I would really recommend this tour.

We had an absolutely incredible experience on this tour! Filipe was exceptional — so knowledgeable and passionate, with a genuine love for what he does. He went above and beyond to make sure every part of our trip was perfect. Nothing was ever too much to ask; he was attentive, accommodating, and truly made us feel special. He showed us spots on the island that only a local would know, and took us to a lunch spot with one of the best burgers I ever had. This was more than just a tour — it was an unforgettable experience thanks to Filipe. We can’t wait for our next visit and will definitely be booking another tour with him. Filipe was dynamic, funny and filled with incredible information. We are an "expert" touring family and have seen and done many, many things - islands, ruins, eco touring, you name it. But our trip to the Azores was special and Filipe provided so much more color and insight about each and every village, landmark, interesting folklore and rich, beautiful history at every step and turn. Regardless of activity level (slow walks to brisk, athletic hikes), Filipe is *the* guide for all-things-Azores!! Also, he was generous enough to provide incredible itinerary advice on the days when we were just among ourselves without a guide and was also a bit of a "weather magician" in terms of sharing when and where to do certain activities based on conditions. Our long morning hike around Sete Citades was wonderful as well. A++

We had an amazing afternoon hike with Filipe! He picked us up promptly from our hotel and drove us to a beautiful spot for a picturesque hike. He graciously offered to take photos and sent them to us, which captured some great family pics! Filipe balanced providing us with insights about the history and the sites while also allowing us time to take in our surroundings. At the end of the hike, we had the opportunity to stop at a pineapple plantation for a brief tour and ate delicious pineapple. We wholeheartedly recommend a private hike with Azores by Locals - it was a special experience!

Super beautiful, our family had a wonderful time! We were able to see the lakes, ocean, and woods all in one. After the hike, we had some wonderful pineapples.

We had the best time with Filipe! We were on a Transatlantic cruise and he met us right at the port and made sure we were back in time to meet the ship. He asked us our interests and skill level and made the perfect itinerary for our day. He made sure we saw all the best views and sites, but then also made time for some out of the way spots away from the crowds. He took great pictures of us along the way. After our hike, he took us to a cafe by the lake where we had local wine and beer before heading back to the ship. It was our favorite tour of our entire three week trip!

We had a great tour with Filipe! We were on a transatlantic cruise and this was the best tour we took of our entire trip! Filipe met us right at the port and made sure were back on time. He listened to our interests and skill level and tailored a day that was perfect for us. I fell and got injured (pride more than anything else!) but Filipe helped with basic first aid to make sure I was okay. He took us to some great out of the way places away from the crowds, and took awesome photos of us the whole way! After we were done hiking, we got to stop at a great little cafe by the lake and have a drink before we went back to port.

My wife and I went our honey to Ponta Delgada. We initially did a jeep tour which was awesome but was rainy. So we decided t0 hire them again for a private hike to the lagoa de fogoa. It was absolutely spectacular. Our guide Felipe was incredible. Super knowledgeable, and a awesome guide. We will be back soon and would 1000% recommend this outing.
