Itinerario
Visita Provesende, uno de los pueblos vinícolas más distintivos del valle del Duero. Disfrute de un suave paseo por el pueblo, pasando por las casas solariegas, la iglesia parroquial, la histórica pillería y las calles tradicionales que revelan un lado más tranquilo y auténtico de la región. Cuando sea posible, la ruta también puede incluir una parada o paso por una panadería tradicional donde el pan todavía se hornea en un horno de leña.

Estación de tren de Pinhão y Pinhão Continúa hacia Pinhão, uno de los pueblos más emblemáticos de la región vinícola del Duero. Disfrute del ambiente ribereño y visite la estación de tren de Pinhão, famosa por sus paneles azulejo tradicionales que muestran escenas de producción de vino, cosecha y vida del Duero. Esta breve parada añade profundidad cultural al día y conecta los paisajes del valle con la gente, las tradiciones y el trabajo detrás de su patrimonio vitivinícola.
Paseo en barco por el río Duero Si los horarios lo permiten, se puede realizar un paseo en barco entre la experiencia del vino y el almuerzo. Ver el Duero desde el río le da al día un ritmo más tranquilo y pintoresco, ofreciendo una perspectiva diferente de las terrazas del viñedo y el paisaje del valle.
Experiencia de vino opcional Dependiendo de sus preferencias y disponibilidad, puede agregar una experiencia de vino seleccionada por separado durante la reserva. Una estructura recomendada es disfrutar de una cata de vinos de Oporto más temprano en el día y una cata de vinos de mesa del Duero más tarde, lo que le dará una comprensión más amplia de la cultura del vino de la región.

El puente metálico fue construido en 1872 por el rey D. Luís I para el paso por carretera del río Duero y estuvo desactivado desde 1949 debido al estado de degradación del tablero de madera. El proyecto inicial pertenece al ingeniero W. Liebe, y posteriormente fue modificado por el ingeniero Johann Gaspar Harkort y los trabajos de construcción estuvieron bajo la dirección del ingeniero alemán Wilherm Dulhener del equipo de Eifel.
Considerada la capital de la región vinícola del Duero y es un importante centro para la industria del vino. La ciudad alberga el Museo del Duero, que muestra la historia y la cultura de la región e incluye exposiciones sobre la producción y comercialización del vino de Oporto.

Carlos. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Carlos and Endless Weekend Tours. Without hyperbole if I could given them 10 stars I would. He picked us up in Peso de Regua and took us out for the day.... we visited 2 wineries for a wine and port tasting respectively, plus several stunning viewpoints and the Pinhao train station with gorgeous azulejos tiles. He was kind, knowledgeable, and flexible, giving us the history and little bits of context every where we went. He even took pictures of us as the day progressed so we'd have memories. And the booking process was super easy and they were very accommodating as to the itinerary for the day, providing recommendations as to wineries.

Tour was terrific. Carlos was our driver and picked us up early in a custom new Mercedes van to head out to the Douro on our custom itinerary. Thankfully, it was just me and my partner without all the tourists crowds. In working with Maria, we asked if we could visit a Quinta that we had heard and she not only called beforehand, but also arranged our visit with the owner- an absolutely wonderful experience. While coordinating additional visits to other quintas, Carlos described the history of the valley, the nuances of port wine, and gave us personal stories that allowed us to feel integrated into the culture of the region. Overall it was super worthwhile time and highly recommended.

The entire experience was brilliant from start to finish! Communicating with the team to discuss our options when choosing the venues for our tours/tastings was easy, prompt, and very helpful. It was great to be able to design our day, with advice from experts. Our tour guide, Paulo, was amazing. Prompt arrival at our requested pick-up point, followed by a day of interesting insights and history of the Valley and its Quintas. I truly believe that a tour guide makes a difference on a trip. I can’t say enough good things about carlos Sousa who took us through the Douro Valley. We did a river cruise and saw many breathtaking sites along the way, including the Sandman Vineyard. His recommendations for sightseeing and dining options were spot on. He had a wealth of historical knowledge which made a big difference. Not all tour guides are created equal, in my opinion he was tops.

The tour was a perfect mix of sights, food, and wine. We loved every part of it. Our tourguide/ driver, Carlos, was also very accommodating. He taught us about wine, drove us around the best views of the duoro valley and even took our photos! This tour is a must try!
