La segunda parada será el museo de Santa Sofía. Fue construida como la iglesia basílica más grande del mundo en el siglo VI y convertida en mezquita en el siglo XV. En 1936, fue convertido en museo por decisión de Atatürk. Pero fue convertida en mezquita en 2020 de nuevo. El Museo de Santa Sofía está en la lista de la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Santa Sofía es una arquitectura muy impresionante de principios del período bizantino. La Galería Principal se usa como mezquita solo para oraciones. La Galería Superior está abierta a los visitantes con entrada de 25EURO por persona.
• Palacio Topkapı con Harén: Después de reunirse con su guía, comenzaremos desde el Palacio Topkapi. Tesoro, Sagradas Reliquias, Pabellones en el tercer jardín interior, Cocinas, Salón de Audiencias (Oficina privada del Sultán), Salón Embajador del Palacio Topkapi son los principales lugares que se deben ver allí. El hipódromo es la plaza donde había un antiguo hipódromo que incluye un obelisco egipcio (3600 años), una columna serpentina (que data del 486 a. C.), una columna de Constantino del siglo X y una fuente alemana.
La Mezquita Azul (Mezquita Sultan Ahmet), que es muy famosa con azulejos de cuarzo azul del siglo XVII, es la única mezquita en todo el mundo con seis minaretes.
Es una cisterna bizantina intacta bajo el suelo. Fue un depósito de agua durante el período bizantino. Es muy famoso con figuras de Medusa Head y columnas únicas. Dan Brown ha mencionado aquí en su libro "Hell" y algunas películas famosas como "Inferno" fue filmada aquí. La entrada es de 27EURO por persona.
Gran Bazar donde tiene 4500 tiendas orientales en su interior. Ir de compras es un tipo de cultura en el Gran Bazar. This was our fourth visit to Istanbul, hence we had no interest in seeing the "traditional" sights once again. Zerrin was the perfect guide to assist given her intimate knowledge of the city's shops, restaurants, etc., and very accommodating style! Zerrin was a fantastic guide. She was fast to respond to our emails planning the tour. She met us at the cruise terminal and explained her suggested itinerary and asked if we wanted to change anything. Her knowledge of archeology and history was excellent—we learned so much on our trip. We were able to see all of the things we requested—had we been our own, we would never have been able to fit in in. I highly recommend Zerrin as a tour guide! She was also wonderful with my 14 year old—we all want to visit Istanbul again!
