Los lugareños llaman Dramaten al Teatro Dramático Real, el escenario nacional de Suecia para “teatros hablados”. El teatro, construido en estilo Art Nouveau, lleva aquí desde principios del siglo XX. Desde Bergman hasta Skarsgård, muchos actores y actrices suecos famosos han trabajado o actuado aquí.
El Kungsträdgården (el jardín del rey), conocido popularmente como Kungsan, es uno de los principales puntos de encuentro de la ciudad y su historia se remonta al siglo XV. En la actualidad, es un lugar de conciertos y festivales durante el verano y, en invierno, se puede patinar sobre hielo en el parque. En primavera, los visitantes pueden disfrutar de los cerezos en flor y, en otoño, las hojas cambian de color.
Kungsholmen se traduce como Isla de los Reyes. Recibió su nombre por primera vez a finales del siglo XVII. Hoy en día, se la conoce como la parte más joven de la ciudad y tiene el mayor número de hogares unifamiliares de Estocolmo.
El Ayuntamiento de Estocolmo es uno de los edificios más famosos de Suecia, construido al estilo del romanticismo nacional. Con sus tres coronas doradas en lo alto de la torre, con vistas a las orillas del lago Mälaren, también es una parte importante del paisaje urbano de la ciudad.
El parque Rålambshovsparken es el resultado de un programa de principios del siglo XX en el que se enfatizaba la importancia social del parque. La idea era encontrar parques para la recreación y el juego cerca de las viviendas para que todos, independientemente de su condición social, pudieran disfrutar del aire libre en poco tiempo y sin grandes gastos. Slussen significa “esclusa” y la razón de su existencia es la diferencia de nivel del agua. Dos masas de agua rodean Estocolmo: el lago Mälaren por un lado (oeste) y el mar Báltico por el otro (este). El lago Mälaren es aproximadamente 70 cm más alto que el mar Báltico.
Stortorget es la plaza principal del casco antiguo de Estocolmo y el mejor lugar para empezar a explorarlo. Aquí se construyó el primer ayuntamiento, donde hoy se encuentra el Museo Nobel, donde los comerciantes de lugares lejanos y cercanos acudían para intercambiar productos, donde se bebía y donde se llevaban a cabo ejecuciones durante un tiempo determinado. Hoy en día, la plaza es conocida principalmente por un acontecimiento que tuvo lugar en 1520 (el Baño de Sangre de Estocolmo).
El Palacio Real es uno de los lugares más grandes y vibrantes de Europa. Es la residencia oficial de Su Majestad el Rey y aquí se desarrollan partes esenciales de la representación de la monarquía. El Palacio Real también es el lugar de trabajo diario del Rey y la Reina. Esto hace que el Palacio Real de Estocolmo sea único entre las residencias reales de Europa.

For me, the best way to get to know the place is by bicycle, the guides are prepared, show the obvious and the peculiarities of the city. They show paths, monuments, tell stories, talk about the economy, politics, habits of the inhabitants... I like and recommend the guide, as in each place there are rules for driving bicycles and the guide teaches.

We took this excursion as we walked off of a cruise ship. We had a wonderful time exploring the city and our bike guide even took us down to the riverside to get some very unique photos. There wasn't a lot of traffic and it was an easy ride. I would definitely do this again.

<p>This was my favorite tour in Stockholm! Lisa was an excellent guide. Easy to understand, knowledgeable and fun - all with a cold! If you enjoy being outdoors and are in reasonably good shape you should definitely do this tour. It gives you a great view of so many areas and is really helpful in getting oriented to the city. I would recommend doing this as your first tour in Stockholm. The great thing is you have use of the City Bikes for two more days after the tour!</p>

<p>This was a fun tour and the guide was great. Special bonuses: the bike was good for a 3-day rental, so we got it for much longer than the tour; surprise karaoke event in front of the ABBA hotel; the guide treated us to a "fika" (Swedish coffee/pastry break).</p>
