Although the guide at one of the Genocide Memorials seemed surprised (and a bit frustrated) at conducting the guided tour upon my arrival, Samy, my personal tour guide for the day, provided a wonderful experience: communicating clearly via WhatsApp hours before the event; getting me to the sites on time; and making me feel comfortable in taking my time once at the memorials. The tour is heavy in scope, but Samy is pleasant and professional, adding a layer of warmth by providing information about Rwanda's current politics and affairs, adding a forward, progressive trajectory to the country's tragic past. Much recommended!
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re pleased to hear that Samy provided a professional, supportive, and well-organized experience throughout such an important and emotional tour. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are glad the day was both meaningful and comfortable for you.
My mom and I did this tour with Aime. Driving was great. We learned a lot from him. These tours were heavy, but worthwhile. It gives a deeper perspective into Rwanda’s history. My only criticism — there was a bit of confusion at one of the locations. It was unclear whether the company didn’t give good notice or the memorial didn’t staff properly. It worked out in the end, but it would have been disappointing to go all that way and pay such a substantial sum to get turned away. I didn’t push the issue at the time because it was unclear who dropped the ball on this.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re pleased to hear that you and your mom had a meaningful and informative tour with Aimé, and that the driving and guiding met your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the confusion at one of the memorial sites and appreciate your understanding, as coordination can occasionally vary on-site. Your feedback is valuable, and we will use it to further improve communication and ensure an even smoother experience for future guests with Wild Hikes Rwanda.
I would definitely recommend Wild Hikes Rwanda. They are always on time and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about different events in the city.
