Alfama es el barrio más antiguo de Lisboa. Una cápsula del tiempo de calles estrechas y laberínticas, y miradores con vistas al castillo de San Jorge, la ciudad y el río Tajo. Paramos en uno de ellos.
Conoce los detalles del Gran Terremoto y cómo Lisboa resurgió de las cenizas. Baixa, o Centro Pombalino, toma su nombre del Marqués de Pombal, el primer ministro de Portugal que dirigió la reconstrucción de Lisboa después del Gran Terremoto de 1755. Una cuadrícula de calles, con innovadoras construcciones sismorresistentes, una de las primeras del mundo.
Belém es el distrito emblemático de la Era Portuguesa del Descubrimiento (1400s-1500s). Hogar de monumentos históricos que nos recuerdan el pasado marítimo de Portugal. Como los sitios del patrimonio mundial de 1500 - la Torre de Belém (parada de fotos) y el Monasterio de los Jerónimos (solo fuera, no entraremos). Allí destaca el Monumento a los Descubrimientos, un gigantesco barco en piedra caliza, listo para navegar por el río Tajo, con Enrique el Navegante a proa. Y ningún viaje a Belém estaría completo sin una parada en "Pastéis de Belém" para probar nuestra tarta de natillas de huevo de fama mundial (no incluida - su guía le ayudará a navegar por las líneas y encontrar una mesa).

We had a great half day with Sandra touring Lisbon! She was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The route was well thought out and she customized for our interests as well. Glad we did the driving tour - walking would have limited what we could see since the city is spread out, and driving ourselves would have been scary.

Our tour with Sandra and No Map Tours was amazing! She picked us up at the cruise port on time..early actually. She took us to some incredible sites and was very good at explaining all the history!
