Tour Privado de la Catedral de Siena

En la Piazza Duomo se abre a la vista la imponente Catedral de Siena, y precisamente desde aquí comenzaremos la visita. Después de una introducción sobre la extraordinaria fachada realizada en mármol blanco, negro-verde y rojo y decorada con estatuas que representan a filósofos, profetas y sibilantes que parecen dialogar entre sí, Nuestra guía les contará la historia de por qué, por desgracia, quedó inacabada a mediados del siglo XIV, abandonando el proyecto de la Nueva Catedral. La visita continúa en su interior donde tendrá la posibilidad de admirar las maravillosas estatuas de Miguel Ángel; la Capilla de San Juan Bautista que custodia una obra de Donatello; la Capilla del Voto de Bernini, frescos y lienzos. La visita a la Librerìa Piccolomini es una experiencia extraordinaria. Admirarás los frescos de Pinturicchio y Raffaello que cuentan escenas de la vida de Enea Silvio Piccolomini, convertido en Papa Pío II. En los períodos de descubierta del suelo, la guía se detendrá también para ilustrar algunos de los paneles bajo la cúpula, obra del artista senes Domenico Beccafumi.

Te encontrarás con la guía delante de la Catedral, en el portal central de bronce. La guía le presentará esta magnífica iglesia desde el exterior y luego descubrirá sus bellezas desde el interior.

Elena was an excellent guide, with profound knowledge of the art historical backgrounds as well as the historical epochs. Elena did not lecture; it was more of a conversation with someone knowledgeable. I would have loved to repeat the tour with Elena in Rome or Florence; it was simply nice.

The specialized guide Elena accompanied us on a two-hour visit of the cathedral of Siena. The visit was incredibly engaging thanks to Elena's professionalism that combines an immense knowledge of the subject with a great ability to transmit and also a nice and friendly attitude. Our guide Ludovica was very kind in respecting our times, she very prepared put passion into explaining things without ever getting bored I found excellent her way of exposing the explanations and I must say that I managed to memorize a lot (which is not always obvious) I would say great experience to recommend certainly!!

Beautiful city but that could not be visited except with a guide that we called wonderful. Thank you Ludovica for making us appreciate the wonders of this city. Our tour guide, Sabrina, was fabulous. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Duomo and Siena. In addition to what was on the itinerary given we had bought the expansive entrance ticket she also took us into the Crypt. After we were done with the Duomo she showed us the church where they bless the horse for Palio in her Owl neighborhood, where community food gets served and the race museum. She also took us into a local bakery and helped us buy desserts. She truly cared and loves what she does and was so enthusiastic to show off her city!!!
