Highly recommended. Highlights were: visiting Mother Teresa’s tomb and workplace in the Sisters of Mercy convent/mother-house; visiting the workshops where effigies and statues are created for Hindu festivals and watching craftsmen at work; the Jain Temple; driving past major buildings dating from British colonial era. Guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. Guide also hosted us for lunch and ate with us, a welcome change from other tours where the guide disappears during lunch, provides no help with ordering. Our guide Anirban was also very flexible as regards adjusting the itinerary according to our preferences. The agency also arranged booking a car the day after for the airport.
This day tour was the highlight of our trip to Kolkata. Our guide, Mr Anirban, was simply fantastic. He was extremely informative, friendly, focused and attentive on our comfort and concerns. Just a delight to be around, and takes obvious pride in showing people his city. The tour was perfectly paced, and well balanced between interesting historical background with the current social/public life of this huge metropolis. Kolkata can be very overwhelming for a visitor, and difficult to navigate. This tour was a great way to see a good cross section of things. Highly recommended!
In years of travelling I cannot recall a better city tour. It is partly because Kolkata is so diverse from current local sites to colonial history. On top of that Bratati is a superb guide. She speaks perfect English, has a detailed knowledge of history, and many different stories to tell about each location. If that’s not enough, she has a great sense of humour. We can’t recommend her enough.
Nemai our tour guide was fantastic and very attentive. Guided us through many of Kolkata’s sites. Definitely recommend him again. Thanks mate
Thank you sir for the wonderful review. It means a lot to us 🙏
My tour request was unusual because I asked for a tour of Barrackpore Cantonment, including if possible entry to the former Government House. Bratati delivered on this request, and more. She was able to show me sites around Barrackpore and to gain entry to the police area which occupies the former Governor-General's estate. She was not especially knowledgeable about the specifically military historical aspects of the area, but as an historian I was able to provide that. A bonus was the ferry trip to Serampore and the Danish Church and tavern. I was very happy with the tour. We did mot enjoy a Bengali lunch, but we did enjoy a cool drink at the Danish Tavern.
A journey back in time to walk the path of the many great philosophers and writers of India . We visited Belurmoth and saw the divine temple of Sri Ramakrishna followed by the temple dedicated to Swami Vivekananda . The location of these temples by the River Ganges added to the ambience of spirituality . Onto the Dakineshwar temple also located on the banks of the holy river . Our visit coincided with the Durga pooja festival that exudes an amazing vibrant atmosphere that is truly Bengali . One has to experience this wonder to understand it’s value to the human experience Our guide Prosenjit was a fountain of knowledge and local trivia that was an integral part of the journey . One must see the house of Rabrindanath Tagore as it leaves you almost feeling totally enchanted and mesmerised by this great souls poetry ; writing and his dedication to perpetuating global humanity .
Bratati is an experienced and competent tour guide who was able to show me sites in Barrackpore and Serampore, both ones I knew of and ones that were new to me. Her standing as an accredited guide was able to give me entree to at least one otherwise restricted site. Most importantly, she listened to what I wanted and made sure we saw it. I can thoroughly recommend her to visitors seeking to understand British sites in India in general and West Bengal in particular.
We had come to Kolkatta to witness the Durga pooja. Our guide Ms Brathiti was an excellent guide.. She explained the history and culture of Kolkata in such an way that we wanted to get back home and read more about it. It was a very enriching experience altogether.
We had an excellent time. Our guide Brathitu was awesome . She is very knowledgeable. Let us know so many information and knowledge which we were not aware of. She was very loving and caring. Very good guide. I recommend other visitors also to have her only as your guide.
It was a divine trip. The whole trip has been a life time experience. Our guide Ms Bratati Saha is an excellent guide. Her knowledge and her commitment towards her profession is admirable. She made our trip very special. She is much more than a guide! Thank you Ms Bratati Saha
