La Torre Blanca, el símbolo de Tesalónica, fue construida en el siglo XV después de la caída de Tesalónica ante los otomanos en 1430. En su ubicación había una torre más antigua perteneciente a las fortificaciones bizantinas de Tesalónica, donde el muro oriental se encontraba con el malecón. La Torre era el extremo oriental del malecón. La Torre Blanca es circular, con una altura de 33,90 metros y un diámetro de 21,70 metros. Consta de planta baja (entrada) y seis pisos superiores. Está construido en piedra, yeso y parcialmente en ladrillo. Las almenas, el techo de la entrada y la planta baja y la bóveda de la escalera están construidos exclusivamente en ladrillo.
El monumento de Alejandro Magno se encuentra en una de las zonas más populares de Tesalónica, en Nea Paralia, junto al mar. Es un impresionante monumento de seis metros de altura que representa a Alejandro montado en su caballo “Voukefalas”. (Bucéfalo), uno de los caballos reales más famosos de la antigüedad.
El Museo Arqueológico de Tesalónica es uno de los museos más grandes de Grecia y el museo central del norte de Grecia. Ha estado ubicado en un edificio diseñado por el arquitecto Patroklos Karantinos desde 1962 y ha sido designado como monumento del patrimonio moderno, ya que es uno de los ejemplos más representativos del modernismo arquitectónico en Grecia. Sus colecciones incluyen artefactos y conjuntos de excavaciones realizadas desde 1912 por el Servicio de Antigüedades Griego en toda Macedonia.

La Rotonda de San Jorge se encuentra justo al norte del cruce de los dos ejes principales de la ciudad donde se encuentra el Arco de Galerio. La Iglesia de San Demetrio, o Hagios Demetrios, es el principal santuario dedicado a San Demetrio, el santo patrón de Tesalónica.
La Torre Trigoniou es la torre más famosa e impresionante de la muralla. Fue construido a finales del siglo XV para evitar una invasión de la ciudad. También llamado "el balcón de Tesalónica", tendrás la oportunidad de disfrutar de la magnífica e imponente imagen panorámica de la ciudad abrazando el mar. En un día despejado podrás ver el Monte Olimpo ubicado a 150 km de distancia, sin ninguna dificultad.
Tsinari, parte de Ano Poli (Ciudad Alta), tomó su nombre del plátano turco "cinar". El perfil del distrito sigue vivo debido a la preservación del antiguo plan urbano y al importante número de edificios listidos presentes en la zona.
La Plaza de Aristóteles es la plaza principal de la ciudad de Tesalónica, Grecia y está ubicada en la avenida Nikis (en el paseo marítimo de la ciudad), en el centro de la ciudad. Fue diseñada por el arquitecto francés Ernest Hébrard en 1918, pero la mayor parte de la plaza se construyó en la década de 1950. Desde entonces, muchos edificios que rodean la plaza central han sido renovados y sus partes norte fueron restauradas en gran medida en la década de 2000.

This was a whirlwind tour, but Chris let me arrange it how I wanted so that I got most of the tough walking out of the way first. He was very helpful and aware of my limitations as I was using a walker due to a recent knee injury. Chris was also very helpful, friendly and made some great suggestions. Our local tour guide was very nice, but he simply drove us from stop to stop…more of a private driver than a tour guide. As with past experiences with Viator, we were expecting him to give us some basic information about the city and various stops as we went along.

Akis was our driver. He gave us a piece of paper with a small description of each sight and an estimated length of time to stay at each sight. He was a driver and not a tour guide which was clear when I booked it with Viator. He was very friendly and flexible. We did not stay at the first sights as long as recommended so he recommended some other things including a stop at a cafe with an amazing view. We enjoyed our day very much.

Vasiliy was on time and a very knowledgeable man on the area. He tailored our tour based on what we wanted to see. He took us to a small cafe overlooking the water. We had a fantastic day and would definitely recommend him. He also got me to drink Greek coffee, it was delicious.
