Our experience with Reflections Travel was outstanding. We were a group of 6 and the company created a custom itinerary based on our brief stay of 2 days, 3 nights. We were booked at the Hilton Ramses on the Nile River which was a great location about 40 minutes from the airport and centrally located in downtown Cairo. The breakfast was included and delicious. The hotel social spaces were beautiful although the room itself was quite dated. Ask for a room overlooking the Nile. Our tour guide could not be better. Rasha was delightful, knowledgable, flexible and so very personable. She maximized our short time frame taking us to Saqqara Necropolis, Memphis, Giza Pyramids and Sphinx and the old Egyptian Museum that houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world, as well as the Hanging Church, the oldest Christian Church in Africa (2nd C.) We ate lunch at two fabulous restaurants- one new and one very old. I would highly recommend Reflections Travel and especially Rasha as your guide. Our driver, Mohammed was also wonderful- always prompt, helpful and friendly. We ended our two days feeling like we had made two wonderful friends in Cairo!
Our day started out with the tour guide Mohammed arriving 15 minutes early. We had a 7:30 pick up time, it was great having someone on time/early. We picked up another couple. My family was my mom, dad, myself, and my 11 and 11 year old children. And we were off to Alexandria. We stopped for a restroom break about an hour into the 2 hr drive (best rest room we have seen in Egypt). We went to the Catacombs first, they were pretty cool. A smaller place but you go down and see some old catacombs. My kids liked how dark and cool they were. We went to Pompeiis Pillar next. This was pretty to see but there is not a lot to see. It was really hot in August. There is the pillar, and an underground area that used to be a library, and another underground area that was a temple. We went to the Alexandria Library 3rd. And took a toor of the library. We thought we would see old scrolls and books, but it was just a tour of a beautiful new library. Interesting, but we were hoping to see the old stuff. Last but not least, we stopped atthe Citadel. It was a gorgeous orangy tan colored old fort. You get to walk in and all the way to the top. You can see all of Alexandria and the Mediterranean Sea. This was beautiful. Following the 4 sites, we went to a sea food lunch, which was worth the whole price of the trip. We had shrimp and fish and rice and veggies and pita bread. It aas the most amazing seafood meal i have ever had. After lunch we were on our way back to Cairo. We had a restroom break about an hour into the 2 hr drive, and this had a super clean restroom also. It was a roadside pizza type restaurant. Very clean and very nice. The driver and tour guide were both talkative and answered all questions that we asked. It was informative, fun and a great experience outside of Cairo. My family had a great time.
The tour was great! An amazing experience! Mohamed (the guide) is a very kind and attentious. Ahmed (the driver) is very funny and a nice guy. Thank you both 😁
Relax and don’t worry about a thing when you book with Reflections. As one who has traveled around the world and has had a variety of experiences I can say Firsthand that Reflections and Muhammad do it right. Being met on time in the airport all the way to the hotel was priceless. No need to panic on what you need when you land. A big point is they are in the business of taking care of you. Trust the guide Mohamed Mahmoud as he provides you with great knowledge of the culture and customs to help you have an enjoyable trip. I also saw firsthand the driver go out of his way to make special stops and make sure things were taken care of. Having this driver was like having your own personal helicopter (but car) he was always there when you needed and took your right to the next place you were wanting to go. The driver made it very smooth always being on time throughout the entire trip. Both the driver also Mohammd and the guide went above and beyond expectations. You can tell he’s doing it for the love of the people. I highly recommend this tour. The ruins that we saw were amazing. Being at the top of the lighthouse castle feeling the breeze coming off the Mediterranean sea was gorgeous. Even the brand new library which is an amazing sight to behold. From someone who has traveled a lot, you will not find a better tour package. I’m great thank you to the Reflections team and Georgina for setting up this lifetime memory.
