I'm a solo female American traveler who had one free day near Berchtesgaden and wanted to make the most of it without the stress of figuring everything out myself — especially not speaking German. Sepp made the entire day completely seamless from start to finish. What set him apart wasn't just his knowledge — it was the thoughtfulness in every detail. He arrived with snacks, my favorite drinks, and even some wine! He sought out a local fisherman at the lake who had smoked fresh trout that morning, then filleted it right there for me. That moment alone was worth the whole trip — something I never would have found or even known to look for on my own. We did the Königssee boat to St. Bartholomä which was absolutely stunning and truly magical. We walked the shoreline, visited the church, had the first beer of the day, did some local shopping, and spent time at the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine — which is a fascinating and genuinely unique experience (just know ahead of time that photos and videos aren't permitted inside). Sepp's historical knowledge and storytelling made every stop richer than it would have been solo. When plans changed last minute and I asked to be dropped in Munich city center instead of the airport, he pivoted without hesitation and gave me excellent local tips for how to spend my evening — all things I would never have known without him. If you don't speak German, hire Sepp. If you want to actually understand what you're seeing, hire Sepp. If you want a day that feels effortless and memorable rather than logistically stressful, hire Sepp. One of the best travel decisions I've made.
Sepp was a great guide—super knowledgeable and worked with us on a last minute itinerary change. He could tell what we were interested in and even took the time to take us to an extra spot he knew we’d like. He was so easy to talk to and we learned a ton of cool info about the past and also current Germany. If I’m ever in this part of the world again he is my first call and I’d recommend him to anyone. Having a guide adds so much to the experience because you find out things you’d never have known otherwise which makes travel so much more rewarding. It was a great day!
Sepp (our guide) was so great! He communicated well before the trip and arrived early to pick us up from our hotel. He has a really fun personality and lots of interesting knowledge about the areas. Plus he took care of all the little details (snacks and drinks on the ride, good advice at our tour stops, tickets, etc). We didn’t have anything to do but relax and enjoy the trip. Lake Königssee was beautiful and we liked the quiet boat ride. Lunch at the restaurant was great - and included. The salt mine was interesting and my kids (who are older) liked it, which is saying something. Ha, ha. It was a great day and 100% worth the money to do it right in a private tour with Sepp. We would love to do another tour with him someday!!!
Sepp (our guide) was right on time for morning pickup at our hotel. He has a great personality and has plenty of interesting knowledge of the area to share. Plus he took care of all the little details so all my family had to do was relax and enjoy. The trip itself was really nice. Lake Königssee is beautiful! And the salt mine tour was interesting and fun as well. A great day and worth the money to do it right. Thanks, Sepp!!!
Our favorite day and tour guide was the private tour to Lake Konigssee and the salt mine with Bavarian lunch. Sepp was the best tour guide we’ve ever had! He was very professional, knowledgeable, and considerate, and he went above and beyond to make sure our whole family had a wonderful experience. The van was very comfortable with snacks provided, the lake boat ride was fun and relaxing, the area was SO beautiful, and the lunch was the best meal of our whole trip. Plus the salt mine tour was interesting and a lot of fun. Best day of our Germany trip by far!
I had a wonderful tour with Sepp. Königssee is a truly spectacular sight and shouldn't be missed if you're in the area. Having been on many tours over the past few years, I strongly believe that a skilled and attentive guide makes all the difference. Sepp is, in my opinion, the best service provider I've encountered. He communicated with me in the days leading up to the tour and ensured we were exceptionally well cared for throughout the day. In short, don't miss this tour if you're ever in Munich.
Sepp was an amazing tour guide! From the time he picked us up to the time he dropped us off he was a perfect host! He was very knowledgeable of the area and we learned a lot! He had wonderful snacks and drinks for us for our journey! We had great conversations along the way! We have been in Munich a week and by far he was the best tour guide we had and wish we would have booked all of our tours with him! At the end he even gave us a few gifts to take home with us including a cookbook of German food which is absolutely amazing for my husband and I love to cook! I highly recommend it’s worth every penny!
At the last minute we booked a trip with Sepp, the Bavarian Guide. Knowing that my dad is very interested in WWII history, Sepp was able to create a more personalized tour for us! He was super easy to work with. We had a wonderful time and would recommend his tours to anyone that is on the fence about booking as I was! I had a tour booked to Salzburg for the day and canceled it to do this tour and we are so happy we did!
Our family (my husband and I and our girls ages 11 and 16) thinks our day spent with Sepp was our most favorite of our time in Munich! Sepp is an absolute joy to have as a guide - he was so attentive and took care of every need for us to make the day absolutely wonderful. From communicating before he picked us up to find out our favorite things to eat and drink, picking up locally-made pastries for us to enjoy in the car, handling every detail of each stop - he really was amazing. He was a wealth of knowledge, sharing with us so much about the local culture and history while we were traveling to the sites. He made every moment of our day fun. He was also wonderful about driving carefully around the windy roads (saving our youngest from any feeling of carsickness!). The Salt Mine tour was amazing and the visit to the Lake was one of the most beautiful spots we visited in Germany. We would highly recommend all of Sepp's tours and would definitely book with him again!
My husband and I had the pleasure of doing a private tour with Sepp to Lake Konigssee and the Salt Mine. From pick-up to drop-off Sepp was the absolute best tour guide we've ever had (and we've had plenty). I won't spoil anything by telling you all the special things he did for us, however, I have to say by the end of the day we felt we had made a friend. Thank you, Sepp, for a wonderful day!
