Tanah Lot significa "Tierra [en el] Mar" en el idioma balinés. Ubicado en Tabanan, a unos 20 kilómetros (12 millas) de Denpasar, el templo se asienta sobre una gran roca en alta mar que ha sido formada continuamente a lo largo de los años por la marea del océano. El templo de Tanah Lot fue construido y ha sido parte de la mitología balinesa durante siglos. El templo es uno de los siete templos marinos de la costa balinesa. Cada uno de los templos marinos se estableció a la vista del siguiente para formar una cadena a lo largo de la costa suroeste. Además de la mitología balinesa, el templo estuvo significativamente influenciado por el hinduismo.

El Templo Taman Ayun se traduce literalmente como "hermoso jardín" y generalmente se lo considera uno de los templos más atractivos de Bali. El templo Taman Ayun está situado en un hermoso parque con árboles y estanques cerca del pueblo de Mengwi en el sur de Bali, a unos 8 km al suroeste de Ubud y 18 km al noroeste de Denpasar. Pura Taman Ayun fue construido en 1634 por el Raja de Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. Es un llamado Pura Kawiten, o templo familiar, un templo especial donde se honra a los ancestros deificados de la dinastía Raja de Mengwi y dioses importantes de otros templos.

The driver/guide, Nik was very tentative on what we needed, on time, guided us through the sights, waited patiently for us to take all those beautiful photos of the temples. We had a wonderful time, although the traffic was bad and it was cloudy no dramatic sunset. We highly recommend this tour and Nik as your guide.

Nik was able to weave his way thru the heavy Bali traffic, made worse by road and bridge closures after the recent deadly floods, and get us to both temples with plenty of time to enjoy them. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to a coffee plantation - well done Nik! The temples were peaceful and quiet and filled us with a sense of calm and serenity. Well worth the visit.

Well worth the trip! We were picked up directly from our villa in Seminyak. Putu our guide/driver was early, and did an excellent job of getting us safely through the traffic! Putu accompanied us at all times, sharing his knowledge of the history and traditions associated with both temples. The car was clean, with good air conditioning & free bottled water. Would definitely recommend to others.

Nyoman took us to Tanah Lot and Taman Ayun temples. Taman Ayun was quiet and beautiful; definitely a little off the beaten path but worth a visit if you have time. Tanah Lot was beautiful, especially if you can walk around the coastline area. It was a great afternoon excursion, and Nyoman took really great photos of us! He was really nice and communicated about the experience— it was great to have someone to take us around and get beautiful sunset pics!
