El centro de Lisboa, llamado "Baixa Pombalina", es el corazón de Lisboa y fue completamente reconstruido después del devastador terremoto de 1755. Con una superficie de aproximadamente 255 hectáreas, contiene magníficas plazas, que están interconectadas por avenidas rectas llenas de gran arquitectura del siglo XVIII.
La Rua Augusta fue considerada la apertura de Lisboa al mundo. Es para simbolizar un “portal” a la ciudad de los misterios. Al pasar el arco, pasas de la oscuridad y la ignorancia a la luz y sabiduría que Lisboa proporciona. Sé iluminado con sus historias.
Esta iglesia fue construida en el siglo XII, cuando conquistamos la ciudad morisca y la convertimos en cristiana. En el mismo lugar había una mezquita, que fue destruida, y esta iglesia se construyó sobre el lugar. Explore el Teatro Romano que se construyó en el siglo I, en la época del emperador romano Augusto. La ciudad romana se llamó Felicitas Iulia Olisipo. Augusto dio el nombre al asentamiento existente con motivo de su ennoblecimiento entre el 31 y el 27 a. C. Con la conquista de Hispania, se decreta la paz en el imperio, propiciando el establecimiento de intensas relaciones comerciales con varias provincias romanas. La riqueza de Olisipo, principalmente piscícola, y su privilegiada posición geográfica transformó la ciudad en la capital marítima de Lusitania. Abandonado en el siglo IV, no fue descubierto hasta 1798, después del terremoto de 1755, mientras se reconstruía Lisboa.
Contempla el Castillo de San Jorge, ubicado en la antigua ciudadela medieval, que fue habitada por los moriscos que la fortificaron para su defensa. Cuando D. Afonso Henriques (Rey fundador de Portugal), tomó el castillo en 1147, después de sitiarlo durante 3 meses, expulsó a los musulmanes y abrió las puertas del castillo al cristianismo. En caso de que quieras visitar el interior del castillo, tienes la posibilidad de pedirle a tu guía que te compre las entradas (no incluidas), ya que tiene la posibilidad de “vía rápida”. De esta manera, no tendrá que esperar en las largas filas para obtener su boleto.
En el Mirador de Santa Luzia (uno de los más bonitos de Lisboa), puedes ver el barrio más antiguo de Lisboa, Alfama. Vea la cordillera en el horizonte (cuando hace buen tiempo), la Reserva Natural de Arrabida, a 50 kilómetros al sur de Lisboa. La iglesia en esta pequeña plaza es la "Sede Nacional de los Caballeros Portugueses de Malta". Cual es su misterio?
Sube (y baja) Alfama, el barrio más antiguo y uno de los más típicos de Lisboa. Su nombre deriva del árabe al-hamma, que significa baños o fuentes.
"Ascienda" hasta esta parte de la ciudad para hacerse una idea de lo que es capaz de hacer en Lisboa durante el resto de su estancia.
Rodeado por la zona de Chiado, se encuentra Largo do Carmo con sus históricos jacarandas. En esta plaza, aún "resisten" las ruinas del Convento do Carmo, construido en el siglo XIV, donde actualmente están instalados el Museo de Arqueología y el Museo del Carmo.
Desde lo alto de esta estructura neogótica (construida en 1902) puede tener otra vista sobre Lisboa y la Plaza Rossio. El ingeniero Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard fue responsable del diseño, contrario a la creencia popular de que hay una conexión con Gustave Eiffel. Es bien sabido que Ponsard aplicó a este elevador algunas de las técnicas y materiales ya utilizados en Francia.

Tristemente esta plaza tiene una historia muy oscura, ya que fue el centro de la Santa Inquisición en Portugal. La mayoría de los castigos públicos, torturas y asesinatos se hicieron aquí. Good overall - our guide was nice and informative but we could have done most of these activities on our own. I think his English could use improvement as we struggled to understand several communication exchanges.
Seeing Lisbon on foot is the best with Maya learned the old and new in Lisbon. Perfect tour. Always was interested in our comfort level. Private is the only way to go

Maia, was an excellent guide. She was easy going and enthusiastic, but most importantly she was knowledgeable and very personable. She knew where to take us and how to get us there. Everything was organized. avoided lines and she gave us the inside story. Our group really enjoyed our tour and at the end of the day we all knew more about Lisbon and felt like we made a friend. Please wear comfortable shoes. I jokingly say that it is all uphill, but it was.

Four of us went on a private guided tour of the city. Our guide João Dickmann lives in Lisbon, but speaks excellent and accent-free German. He knows his city and its history, which jumps you around every corner, very well. He didn't owe us an answer and showed us many things we would otherwise have walked carelessly past. João readily responded to our wishes and the five hours passed far too quickly.

We have used Joao Dickmann for 2 separate trips to Lisbon. Joao always makes sure we have the best experience and we do. Paulo was our guide and we fell in love with him and Lisbon. We took friends with us last trip and toured all over Spain and Portugal. Lisbon was by far our best experience. Paulo has such a love and passion for his country. From the tastiest cuisine, hand tile making, wine tasting, historical sites and Fado, he knows it all. The Coronavirus has hit this industry hard. Do what you can to help! We have a trip planned there in August with our daughter and son-in-law. Viva la Lisboa!

This was our second time to book in three years and we were NOT disappointed. We requested Paulo as our tour guide because we had him 3 years ago. We had friends with us and we knew he would give us an excellent tour. The great thing is you get a private tour and can make requests. Paulo is so passionate about his home city. He knows the best places to visit and to eat. Places we would have never found. We asked Jaio for a good place for Fado and it was magnificent! Casa de Lehares, I think I spelled that correctly. Belem Tower is impressive to see. According to my research it was built on the banks of the Tagus between 1514 and 1519 by King Manuel I of Portugal to guard the entrance to the port of Lisbon. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983, together with the Hieronymite Monastery.

Et oui, c'est l'un des nombreux monuments que nous avons à Lisbonne et l'un des milliers que nous avons encore autour du Portugal.
