Out guide was extremely knowledgeable about everything we saw on the tour. He made the tour interesting, and my family and I were never bored. The temperature was greater than 95F, so he kept us moving and kept us in the shade when we were stationary. Great tour - highly recommend if you want to see the ruins of Rome, especially if you’ve never visited previously
Trip Advisor sold us the Colosseum Tour. The tour was then transferred to Viator who was to deal with the Colosseum ticket office for our actual tickets. This did not happen as the Colosseum Ticket Office failed to issue our tickets. The issue turned out to be that our two tickets were booked under the same name rather than each of us and our tickets were terminated. Not happy. We ended up in the line at the Colosseum to purchase tickets at a fraction of the cost and were happy with the self guided tour.
This was an awful experience with Show Me Italy! I booked months in advance and 2 days before the event I got an email saying they couldn't guide us within the colosseum. Too late to rebook or cancel without penalty. They said "guides were not allowed inside" but we saw many tours inside once we got in there. Our guide was less than enthusiastic and we spent the majority of the "tour" in the Forum before he dropped us at the Colosseum. Because of the changes, the tour started 45 minutes later and we only had 30 min in the Colosseum due to our other scheduled things for the day. Never got to the Arena Floor which was supposed to be included. It's labeled a Colosseum tour but it wasn't really that at all :(. It was incredibly frustrating and very disappointing!!! Would NOT recommend!
The guide was very fast and we barely had a chance to stop to take photos. she was definitely on a mission. She was knowledgeable and very kind. The issue I have is with Viator - the first tour I booked, they cancel two weeks before we were to leave for our vacation so I had to scramble to find another Colosseum tour. A couple days prior to the tour I received a message that regulations had changed & the guide could not go inside the Colosseum with us; however, once inside there were guides everywhere with other groups. Then the day before the tour, the changed the time of the tour which left us with only about 20 minutes in the Colosseum itself. Bottom line, I do not have a lot of faith in Viator and would not recommend or use them in the future.
This is mostly a walking tour of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill that lasted 2.5 hours. If you like history, this is a great tour for you. There’s lots of walking and there are some stairs to get to some of the viewpoints. Our guide did not accompany us to the Colosseum and that was a bummer. That was the main thing that we wanted the tour for so big disappointment there.
The tour of the Roman Forum was amazing. I didn't know what to expect, and honestly didn't know much at all about the Forum, but I found it so interesting. This was not a tour of the Colosseum, however. The tour guide gave a thorough tour of the Forum, and then at the end did an overview of the Colosseum but then we entered and toured it on our own.
Lots of walking, very hot in the summer but well worth it! Our tour guide Elizabeth was great and knowledgeable!
Humi our guide was first class. Absolutely perfect in every way. Considerate, informative and fun as well as professional
An incredible afternoon listening and learning about the history of the ancient past, seeing sights that I had only hoped to and gaining treasurable knowledge I never heard in any college or graduate course of the arts or history.
The tour guide did not seem to be very knowledgeable. I could be wrong but it seemed she was making stuff up.
