Una visita a Al Khor, ubicado a 50 kilómetros al norte de la capital, Doha. Considerada una de las ciudades más grandes de Qatar. Al Khor es el hogar de muchos empleados de la industria petrolera debido a su proximidad a los campos de petróleo y gas natural del norte de Qatar y a la ciudad industrial de Ras Laffan.
Deténgase en la Isla Púrpura, también conocida como Jazirat bin Ghanim, aproximadamente a una hora en automóvil desde Doha. Es una isla pequeña, conectada al continente por un camino angosto que se rompe en diferentes puntos para permitir que el agua fluya hacia el manglar.
Ubicada a unos 35-40 km de Doha, la playa de Al Thakira es un lugar ideal para nadar, tomar el sol o pasar un día relajado en la playa. La playa ofrece vistas serenas de las reservas de manglares densos más grandes y antiguas de Qatar.
Al Zubarah es el sitio de patrimonio arqueológico más grande de Qatar. Fue nombrada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 2013 y es el ejemplo mejor conservado de una ciudad comercial y pesquera de perlas de los siglos XVIII y XIX en la región del Golfo. A diferencia de sus contemporáneos, está prácticamente intacto y no se ha perdido bajo las vastas ciudades modernas de la región. El sitio, ubicado aproximadamente a 100 km al noroeste de Doha, se extiende 2,5 km desde el Fuerte Al Zubarah hasta la costa. Fundada a mediados del siglo XVIII, la ciudad se convirtió en el asentamiento más grande e importante del país. Su éxito atrajo la atención de otras potencias del Golfo, y después de varios ataques, la ciudad fue incendiada hasta los cimientos en 1811. En las primeras décadas del siglo XX, fue abandonada. Hoy, el sitio cubre un área de 60 hectáreas con restos de casas, Masajid (mezquitas), Madhabis (prensas de dátiles), grandes edificios fortificados y un mercado.

The Tour was very pleasant with the guide driver with whom we made it. He explained everything well and provided us with water and of course, invested us to a typical tea of the country. We visited Purple Island and Al Zubarak Fort. El Tour del Norte.

Great chance to get out of Doha and see some of historic Qatar. My guide Zohaib was knowledgeable and friendly! Be aware, the shuttle to the village does not run on Fridays.

My tour guide Zohaid knows the lay of the land and was very helpful in pointing out notable structures, places and their significance. He also knows the history very well. He was able to give insight to the structures and locations; and was also nice and polite. I liked the views of the ruins of the old city - Al Jmeil and I definitely enjoyed reading the history of Al Zubara. The Mangroves were okay too.

The North Qatar 🇶🇦 tour should be included in everyone else’s bucket list! It’s absolutely amazing. You can learn so much about the history of Qatar, how and when it all begin! My Private tour was absolutely incredible. I have been picked up and dropped off via beautiful 4X4 car. My tour guide Ali was very knowledgeable, patient, encouraging , helpful and with a good sense of humour. He walk with me together with each stop that we made, took a lot of beautiful photos and even when I wanted to take an extra time to explore Al Zubair, he never ever rushed me. This tour is a perfect way to see the country’s important cultural sites and do it comfortably! Our tour guide (driver) Irfan was very easy to talk to, rearranged the tour plan so we could make best use of our limited time to see (before closing) the fort and ancient site of Al Zubarah and come in time for sunset at Mangroves and Purple Island!

It was a very bad experience. First of all. The Purple Island isn't as it's seems in the photos. It doesn't have any water. Then because a reason that I didn't know, we arrive one hour late to the Fort, so we can't get into the facilities as the tour arrive one hour late. More than a tour this is a scam. I need the tour give me back my money. I don't pay just to go around the dessert.
