Su guía turístico lo recogerá de su hotel y lo llevará a los campos de exterminio del Centro de Genocidio Choeung Ek, a 14 kilómetros al sur de Phnom Penh. Los infames campos de exterminio tienen una historia sangrienta. Una vez que fue un huerto y un cementerio chino, los Jemeres Pícaros, liderados por Pol Pot, convirtieron el lugar en lo que se conoció como los campos de exterminio, donde ejecutaron a unas 20.000 víctimas. Durante tres años, masacraron y enterraron a 2,5 millones de personas. Después de recordar a los muertos, regrese a Phnom Penh para visitar el Museo del Genocidio Tuol Sleng (S21). Pol Pot, que significa colina de los árboles venenosos, convirtió una escuela secundaria que alguna vez fue popular en una prisión de alta seguridad. Our guide , Ran ,was extremely knowledgeable. He has a very personal and first hand connection to this terrible time in Cambodia's history , I won't spoil it by saying anything. Ran also spoke great English. While a harrowing experience , its one that is necessary to know. A great value half day tour. Recommended.

Highly recommend requesting Ran as your tour guide! He lived the Khmer Rouge as a little boy and could tell us what things were like firsthand in Cambodia during the dark time. He was so knowledgeable and we are glad we hired him for the tour vs doing the museums on our own so that we could learn more. The driver, Huot, also picked up/ dropped off right at the door of our hotel and offered cold waters during the drive.
