Kai was our tour guide and he was AWESOME! The big animals weren't out, but we learned so much about plants, insects, and life in the forest. Highly recommend!

The experience was entertaining, we saw several little frogs. At one point it already got a bit boring. The guide Lyan knew a lot about all the frogs and insects we found and was very kind the whole time.

So amazing we saw so many animals. The tour was in Spanish and it was 10/10

The night tour was incredible! We saw so many amazing sights including frogs, sloths, bugs, and even a possum. Lucas was amazing and so informative! Couldn’t recommend this tour more.

Nice night tour. Saw lots of frogs, a couple of spiders, and other critters. Our guide was great and knowledgeable!

My partner and I went on the night hike and loved to see so many different species we never saw before. The tour guides were so kind and even gave us coffee before the hike. They pointed out so many animals we wouldn’t have noticed without them! Thanks for the memories!

I went on this night walk at the end of July 2026 after having taken 2 other night walks in the La Fortuna. I went solo on this trip as I took the 8pm tour. I was originally excited for the walk given the other 2 tours, but the excitement unfortunately quickly turned into disappointment. The disappointment was not from the lack of wildlife, but from the overall experience. On the positive side, we did see some frogs, toads, a snake and some insects. The down side was that they were short viewed. The guide, while very passionate, was more concerned about telling us about cacao plants than looking at animals. I felt like we inconvenienced him when a child in our group spotted a toad. He took about 15 seconds to mention the name of the toad, shined a light on it, and went back to looking at a cacao pod. This was the common theme throughout the night. The only animal that we spent more than 30 seconds looking at was the red eyed tree frog. The trail was steep and slippery since it had rained that day. The trail also had a ton of roots, combined with the steepness made for most memebers of our group slipping, thankfully not getting hurt. Fortunately, there were 2 stream crossings where we tried to clean off our shoes. The animals were a little hard to come by and the guide did his best to try and find them, but went way off trail to locate them. The majority of the group did not follow him once he spotted frogs given the slope and mud that would need to be traversed to see them. I felt really bad for the family with 3 small kids that were with us as the kids were bored out of their minds and trail conditions were once again not ideal. to be dragging them through the forest. I gave them the names of the other 2 tours I took in an effort for them to hopefully see more wildlife, up close, on a flat gravel trail. Overall, expecting to go up and down large hills and have to walk through running water. Maybe there are other trails here, but the one I went on should not be used if the conditions are wet. The guide did try to find animals and was very nice and respectful. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a night tour here as I know that there are better experiences available closer to town, on gravel, well maintained trails with more wildlife.

Amazing guides. We saw all sorts of frogs and insects including tree frog, glass frog, poison dart frog. Very nice and knowledgeable staff, Lucas and his dad put such a strong effort to give us the best tour.

Lucas was an amazing guide. He had so much enthusiasm and love for Costa Rica, it was a joy to be in his presence. And we say quite a bit of wildlife considering the downpours
