I don't know what was "Exclusive" about our visit......as noted on the activity caption. There were, likely 1,000 people in the place, although our group was supposed to be only six people. Viator needs to do a better job making sure the details (and description) match to a reasonable representation of the activity. Our visit was neither private, exclusive or unusual in any way. For four of us, the cost was $250.

However, we would like to clarify a few important points: your tour was indeed private, with only your family participating, and you were accompanied by a dedicated private guide throughout the visit. Additionally, you skipped the regular one-hour line—you entered the museum in under five minutes, thanks to your priority access. Regarding the number of people inside the museum: unfortunately, we do not control internal crowd levels. The Accademia Gallery is one of the most visited museums in the world, and it typically sees around 5,000 visitors per day. On the day of your visit, the number was closer to 1,000, which is actually quite low for this venue. As for the price, $250 for a private guided tour for four people comes to about $62 per person, which we believe is a fair rate for the exclusive service and skip-the-line access with tickets, radios provided. We ended up not getting to go on the tour. We were sent the tickets got in the line. Then were told they were 3rd party tickets and we had to go meet a tour guide. We went to the meeting location, arrived 10 minutes late. No one was there. Messaged tour operator, it was 5:45 our tickets stated good fit 5:30-6:30 finally received a text message saying they had tried numerous times to reach me, and my guide had already left. Obviously late on the day, there was little we could do. We got in line and hoped for the best. We did end up getting in and paying a second time . But I was very disappointed with this experience. We have booked many tours through Viatar and this is the first bad experience we have had. If a refund is possible I would appreciate.

The 5:30–6:30 time range reflects the duration of the experience, not a flexible arrival window. Since this was not a private tour, we were unable to delay the start out of respect for the other guests who arrived on time. Our team made several attempts to contact you by phone and message before the tour started in hopes of helping you join on time, but unfortunately, we did not receive a response until after the tour had begun. Arriving at 5:45 PM meant the group had already entered, and the guide was already inside. That said, we completely understand that travel days can be hectic. Even though we had already covered the cost of your tickets and the guide, we’ve issued a full refund through Viator as a gesture of goodwill. We always strive to offer a positive experience, even when things don’t go as planned. For future bookings, we kindly recommend reviewing the meeting instructions carefully and ensuring your phone is reachable, especially close to the tour time.
