Received an email the day before stated the tour start time had changed which was confusing since the ticket still had the original time on it. Found out during the tour that the company had combined our historical tour with a food tour, so we didn't have time to see all the things we expected to see. The guide directed us towards the tongues fountain at the end of the tour but didn't have time to come with us as he ran out of time. Not the guides fault, the company was obviously trying to save money by combining tours. Very disappointing
The tour time shown on my confirmation clearly stated the start time was 1500. The tour guide said he was there st 1400 and since no one showed up, he left. I contacted TripAdvisor, and though my confirmation notice and their communication about my missing the tour both clearly showed 1500, they said 1400 was the correct time. How was I supposed to know that? I'm just glad it was not an expensive tour.
Our guide, Salma, was really not knowledgeable about history, architecture or how to give a tour. She imparted hardly any information. She couldn't answer most questions. We would loved to have learned more about the city, the architecture, what happened when. What happened in WW II. What is the system of government - all things that are easily mentioned as we walked. We all thought it was the worst tour we have had. She told us a few things as we walked one way, and on the way back she told us nothing.

A wealth of wonderful Basel Historical background information. We highly recommend this tour with Salma. Her insight to the history of the region was remarkable.

The guide was lovely but very lacking in knowledge of the history of Basel. We walked slowly around and she told us about shopping and very little history.
