The address listed on the booking page was incorrect and only directed us to the city rather than the actual meeting location. After realizing this, I called the employee, who gave me a different address. Unfortunately, that address led us to “The Night Tour,” which was a completely different activity. I called again to explain what happened, but the employee was not helpful. She simply told us that we had missed our tour and insisted she had provided the correct location, despite the confusion caused by the incorrect directions. We ended up driving about an hour for nothing and were unable to participate in the tour. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience due to the inaccurate location information and the lack of customer service when trying to resolve the issue.
Hello Liliana Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are genuinely sorry that your visit did not go as expected and understand how disappointing and frustrating that must have been. We reviewed your reservation and confirmed that the meeting point provided in your booking confirmation is the correct one. Unfortunately, GPS and map applications can sometimes direct visitors to the wrong location, which appears to have happened in this case. When you called us, our team tried to guide you to the correct meeting point. Sadly, by the time we heard from you again, the tour had already started. Because our tours follow a fixed schedule to ensure the best experience for all guests, we were unable to delay the departure. We truly regret that you missed the opportunity to join us. We also appreciate your feedback, as it reminds us that we can always look for ways to make our directions even clearer and help prevent situations like this in the future. We sincerely wish your experience in Costa Rica was better, and we hope that one day you'll consider giving us another opportunity to show you the experience we strive to provide every guest.
We did a day tour trying to see some animals. It started raining heavily so we had to finish the tour earlier than expected which means that there was no possibility of weeing the monkeys. During the first hour we did however not so that many animals, a sloth from very far barley visible with the telescope, a snake, a frog and that's about it. The guide seemed knowledgeable but overall we think we payed a lot a got little. We were told that we could come back another day to see the monkeys but since it was our last day in La Fortuna we couldn't do that. Although when we were leaving we saw another guide just about to start with another group, so I don't get why we couldn't have joined them to see the monkeys.
Hello Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for visiting us. We're sorry that the weather conditions prevented you from fully enjoying everything that Arenal Sloths and Monkeys has to offer. Our property is a natural reserve where all of the animals live completely free in their natural habitat. They are not kept in enclosures or captivity, so every tour is a unique and authentic wildlife experience. Rather than bringing animals to our guests, we go out to find them with the help of our experienced naturalist guides, who use their knowledge of the forest, along with spotting scopes and other observation equipment, to provide the best possible wildlife viewing experience. Rain can affect animal behavior, causing some species to remain hidden or become less active, which may make it more difficult to observe the wide variety of wildlife that we usually see. Even so, every tour is unique and offers the opportunity to experience the beauty of a living, natural ecosystem. We sincerely appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you back on a day with better weather conditions so you can enjoy an even more complete experience. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting responsible tourism and nature conservation!
Amazing walk and wildlife sightings with our guide Miller. Kids had a blast and it was so worth it. Saw sloths, monkeys, toucans, frogs and more!
Miller and Manuel were fabulous. Helpful friendly and knowledgeable. Bringing the extra scope for the kids was great. Price was good.
Top wax tour with William as a guide who was very informative!
we were accidentally dropped off here by our uber and so glad we were! everyone here was so welcome and friendly, they let us hop on a tour that was just about to start. so glad they saved the morning. thanks arenal sloths and monkeys!
We had a really great time on this tour. Highly recommend. We saw so many los monkeys, frogs, and other cool nature things. Miller was our guide
Highly recommend! We did this tour with our three boys, ages 7, 6, and 4. It was very doable with these ages. I will say, the path is not stroller friendly, so your kids need to come prepared to walk or be in a carrier. Our guide, Miler, was incredibly knowledgeable and was so good at finding animals quickly and showing them to the kids and telling us about them. He walked slowly so the kids could easily keep up with him. I would recommend wearing hiking boots or shoes that can easily get wet, as we didn’t come prepared and our shoes got muddy. Also, insect repellent is a MUST. The mosquitoes are viscous, especially if it rains. We cannot speak highly enough of this tour!
William was so sweet i feel like he went above and beyond to show us everything we could see and teach us new things.
We had a beautiful experience on a very wet and rainy morning. Eric was a wonderful guide and helped us spot many creatures we never would have seen on our own— sleepy sloths, dripping monkeys, soggy toucans, and a trail side fer de lance. A great tour and mahalo nui to Eric for being such a fantastic guide.
