Adéntrate en el corazón de Atenas y explora Koukaki, uno de los barrios más encantadores y auténticos de la ciudad, no como turista, sino como lugareño. Esto no es solo un recorrido gastronómico; es un paseo por mi propia historia. Nací y crecí en Koukaki, y todavía lo llamo hogar. A través de esta experiencia, te mostraré cómo es realmente la vida aquí, más allá de las guías y en los ritmos reales y cotidianos de la ciudad. Beberemos vino como lo hacen los lugareños, y entraremos en restaurantes familiares, panaderías y delicatessen que han resistido la prueba del tiempo. Saborearás los favoritos locales, escucharás las historias detrás de las recetas y conocerás a las personas que hacen que este barrio sea tan especial. Koukaki se encuentra justo debajo de la Acrópolis, pero sigue siendo un verdadero centro local, lleno de carácter, creatividad y espíritu comunitario. Itinerario
Exploraremos la calle Olympiou, la animada zona peatonal con todos los bares y restaurantes en el distrito más local del centro de Atenas, Koukaki. Probaremos un souvlaki o giroscopios en mi lugar favorito de parrilla local.
Probaremos otro tentempié salado típico griego, que por supuesto son las tartas de pastelería filo. La panadería es un negocio familiar local donde compro pan y pasteles durante más de 20 años. También tendremos platos de meze en una taberna griega local (Mousaka, Tzatziki, ensalada griega, Gemista) y compartiremos vino local como lo hacen los lugareños.
Nos dirigiremos hacia una microcervecería local, donde les ofreceré una cerveza local griega. Este lugar tiene cervezas que normalmente puedes encontrar en las islas griegas.
Por supuesto, terminaremos la velada con uno de mis postres griegos favoritos. También te acompañaré hasta el punto final, que es la estación de metro Akropolis, y te mostraré la hermosa calle peatonal de Makrigianni y Apostolou Pavlou, donde tendremos la oportunidad de disfrutar de la Acrópolis iluminada. ¡Una manera perfecta de terminar la noche!
Visitaremos el barrio más antiguo de Atenas, Plaka y pasearemos por las pintorescas callejuelas. Terminaremos nuestra noche con una copa griega local en la distellery más antigua de Atenas.

Christina, our guide was charismatic, charming and knowledgeable about her craft. Tasty assorted dishes were accompanied by thoughtful interaction . Koukaki is a can’t miss neighborhood with outstanding and authentic cuisine.
Just beneath the Acropolis of Athens, the neighbourhood of Koukaki is full of quiet streets, family-run tavernas, and spots you’d never stumble into without being with someone in the know. We met up with Christina, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she led us to four local gems and into the heart of Greek home-style cooking. Since it was just myself and a family member, Christina took up on a private and customized tour! We had a variety of amazing Greek dishes I had never tasted before which included salads, mezze, slow-cooked dishes, juicy pork souvlaki in a pita, and finally, loukoumades! These are crispy little dough puffs soaked in honey and finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Think of them like Greek doughnuts! It was just a perfect way to end the meal! This was such a fantastic experience and I can honestly say that meeting Christina and travelling through Koukaki with her was one of our most memorable experiences during our stay in Athens. This is a must-do tour and I highly recommend it. 10/10 stars!

What made it even more special was the rooftop experience. The views were stunning, especially at sunset, and the atmosphere was just perfect relaxed, beautiful, and memorable. It was the kind of moment you just want to pause and enjoy. On top of that, the guide was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. You can really feel the love and effort put into creating this experience. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to discover the city in a different way, combining great food, beautiful views, and a warm, welcoming vibe. I would 100% do it again!

One of the best and final parts of my Greece excursion was a personalized food tour by Christina and this was hands down one of the best food tours I ever had! Christina is very knowledgeable about the food and culture of Greece and told some outstanding stories during the tour! If you do not book Christina you will definitely be disappointed in any other Athens Food Tour!
This was such an immersive food tour into a different part of Athens that is vibrant and unique. Kristina was an amazing host, who clearly loves her city and the history surrounding it. We were treated to all of her favourite spots - all of which were 10/10 - where feasted on items we had never tried, like moussaka and briami, as well as more familiar dishes, like gyros/souvlaki. By the time we got to dessert, I could have rolled down the Acropolis hill. It felt like excellent value for the cost and that we were in no rush for it to finish. Thank you so much for such a fun experience. Would happily recommend.
