From the moment we met Natalia, our host and guide, we knew we were in store for a wonderful experience. A native of Buenos Aires, Natalia was super friendly, engaging and a fountain of knowledge of all things Argentina. Our tour of the Palermo district began by sampling delicious medialunas with cafe con leche at Lucio Pizza & Pasta (Yes, a pizza place that makes excellent pastries too! ). We then moved on to the beautiful botanical gardens, designed by Carlos Thays. We learned that Thays was also responsible for the many tree-lined streets and plazas we enjoyed on our walk. A delicious lunch of morcilla and bife de chorizo followed at cozy El Pensador - the best steak we’ve had in BA, and we’ve had quite a lot! Natalia then took us to the SoHo area of Palermo - a very trendy spot with cafes, shops and the like, but rich in history and cultural awareness that were honored in multiple ways, including many beautiful public art murals. After enjoying delicious gelato, we said farewell to Natalia, and reflected on the day. If you are interested walking through a beautiful area of BA, soaking in its history, culture and art, and enjoying delicious food, then this is the tour for you.
Hi LuluJRT, Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. I’m especially glad to hear how strongly Natalia resonated with you. She is not only a native of Buenos Aires, but someone who genuinely loves unpacking the layers of this city, from Carlos Thays’ vision for our green spaces to the immigrant stories embedded in Palermo’s streets. Starting with medialunas at Lucio and then moving through the Botanical Garden is one of my favorite arcs of the tour. Thays shaped so much of Buenos Aires, yet many visitors walk through those spaces without realizing how intentional they were. Pairing that history with a proper bife de chorizo at El Pensador and ending with gelato tends to make the stories stick. Thank you as well for mentioning the balance of trendiness and history in Palermo SoHo. Beneath the cafés and boutiques, there is a very real and complex past, and it means a lot that you appreciated both sides of it. We would love to welcome you back anytime. There is always another layer of Buenos Aires waiting to be explored. Warm regards,
We took a 3.5 food tour with Frank/Asado Adfenture today and we throughly enjoyed it. Besides food, we got a history and overview of the neighborhood. We visited Botanical gardens we learned about Carlos Thays. As for food, we enjoyed medialunas and coffee in Italian restaurant and later steak. We followed up with chocolates and mate. I want to point that my husband does not eat red meat and we appreciated how Frank arranged chicken substituion which was cooked in separate skillet. Frank took photos of us and later on emailed us a photoalbum - a very thoughthul souvenir. Also, if you do not want to figuring out public transportation, he arranged for us a personable English speaking driver. I will rate it excellent experience and highly recommend Asado Adventures!
Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed review. It truly means a lot. I am so glad you both enjoyed the morning together and that the tour struck the right balance between food, neighborhood history, and context. Palermo has many layers, and I love being able to connect places like the Botanical Gardens and Plaza Italia with the stories behind them, especially Carlos Thays and the people who shaped the city. I also really appreciate you mentioning the dietary accommodation for your husband. Making sure everyone feels comfortable and well cared for is essential to how I design these experiences, and I am happy the separate skillet solution worked well for you both. Ending with mate and chocolates is always a favorite moment for me, and I am glad you enjoyed that introduction as well. And of course, I am pleased the photo album added something special as a keepsake from the day. Thank you again for the recommendation and for trusting me with part of your time in Buenos Aires. It was a genuine pleasure hosting you, and I hope our paths cross again in the future.
Natalia was a great guide! We learned a lot, ate delicious food and tried Mate. Highly recommend! The steak and black sausage were wonderful. Really enjoyed seeing the street art in Palermo.
Hi Kate, I'm so glad you enjoyed your half-day tour with Natalia! She loves sharing her mate with our guests and showing off the neighborhood. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your thoughts and for the very nice review. Thank you for choosing to share part of your vacation with us!
Wonderful food tour with Frank! He was gracious in planning a private half-day tour for our group. Communication up to and after the tour was outstanding. We learned so much about Palermo and Argentine history while eating some delicious classic dishes. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for this kind review! It was a real pleasure planning your private tour and sharing not just the food, but the deeper stories that make Palermo and Argentine history so special. I'm especially glad you appreciated the communication—that's something we take seriously because we want your experience to feel seamless from start to finish. Your group brought such great energy, curiosity, and good humor to the experience—it made guiding you an absolute joy. And hey, anyone who dives into alfajores, provoleta, empanadas, wine, steak, and history with equal enthusiasm is always welcome back! Thanks again for the high recommendation. I hope our paths cross again sometime soon. Warmest wishes from Buenos Aires.
We didn’t have a lot of time in Buenos Aires and wanted to do something fun with the little time we had. This turned out to be a great experience! Every stop was delicious and just the right amount of food. We really enjoyed learning more about Buenos Aires and Palermo. Frank was an excellent guide. Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for taking this tour with me and spending the afternoon eating, drinking, and chatting. I enjoyed showing you around my neighborhood and sharing not only its yummy food, but talking about history and street art as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Latin American trip.
