I joined both the North and South Fuerteventura tours with the same company during my holiday, and both excursions were led by the same local guide. The itineraries were excellent, and I really enjoyed discovering different parts of the island. The scenery was beautiful, the stops were well chosen, and there was plenty to see throughout both days. The guide clearly knew the island very well. As a local, he shared interesting information about Fuerteventura, its history and the places we visited, and he drove safely throughout both tours. Unfortunately, his attitude significantly affected my experience. On the North tour, he was somewhat more approachable and more willing to answer questions, but I would not describe him as particularly warm or friendly. On the South tour, however, his attitude was noticeably worse. Throughout the day, he alternated between being professional and being abrupt, dismissive and, in my opinion, arrogant. This made me feel uncomfortable asking questions, and I noticed that I was not the only guest who experienced this. When guests asked questions, he would sometimes respond by saying, "This is not the right time for that question," and refused to answer until later. While I appreciate that guides need to manage the flow of information, his manner often came across as impatient and unnecessarily harsh. At one stop, I became separated from the group because I had not clearly understood where we had parked. I apologised, and at the following stop I took a photo of the parking location so that it would not happen again. When he saw me doing this, he remarked, "Are you listening, or you don't want to get lost again?" I found the comment unnecessarily sarcastic and dismissive. A more supportive response would have been appreciated, especially after I had already apologised. During the North tour, while explaining where many local residents live, he made a joke saying that they lived there because they wanted to be away from tourists like us. Although he presented it as humour, the delivery felt harsh rather than light-hearted and contributed to the impression that visitors were not particularly welcome. Also during the North tour, I observed a British couple offering him a tip at the end of the excursion. Rather than simply thanking them, the interaction became awkward. The couple suggested that he could use it to buy himself a drink or something for his family, and he replied that he did not drink and did not want a family. Although everyone is free to respond as they wish, I found the exchange surprisingly abrupt, and he did not come across as particularly appreciative of the gesture. On another occasion, after mentioning some salt marks left on the vehicle, he then leaned over and whispered something privately to another couple who were standing immediately next to me. I have no way of knowing what was said, but I found this behaviour unprofessional. If something needs to be communicated to guests, I believe it should be done openly and respectfully rather than through private whispers in front of other customers. On the South tour, he also had a disagreement with one guest during the pick-up regarding tickets, which added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Despite this, both excursions themselves were excellent. The landscapes were spectacular, the itineraries were very well planned, and I am glad I visited both the north and south of Fuerteventura. My rating reflects the guide's attitude rather than the destinations, which were absolutely worth seeing. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. A more consistently welcoming, respectful and approachable attitude from the guide would have made two excellent excursions even better.
Excellent South Tour. Booked with an agency in Caleta de Fuste. Very good value for money Our guide was great: Alice. Correct times for the various stages. Casa del Quezo Playa de Sotavento Ayou Caves and lunch (separate) Statues of the island's historical Kings
Absolutely amazing tour and excellent value for money! We visited a traditional goat cheese farm, the historic town of Betancuria, the incredible Ajuy Caves, and the stunning Playa de Sotavento, with a beautiful photo stop along the way. We also had lunch at a lovely local restaurant in Ajuy, which was a great addition to the day. The biggest highlight was our tour guide, Oscar. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about Fuerteventura. Having lived in 12 countries, he brought a unique perspective and was able to connect with everyone. We had some great conversations about our backgrounds and life, and he was such an honest, humble, and interesting person. Overall, a fantastic day out and one of the highlights of our holiday. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Oscar as your guide!
Magnificent experience, great for easily visiting wonderful places in Fuerteventura with a very friendly guide, in my case, Alice!
Beppe was an excellent guide, creating a wonderful mood that was conveyed to everyone and allowed us to experience the tour with the right attitude. No pressure, a race against time... I would do it again. Always with Peppe.
Beautiful excursion in the south of Fuerteventura with Kalitravel! A perfectly organized day that allowed us to discover some of the most fascinating places on the island. We visited the Casa del Queso, with interesting explanations about local traditions, admired spectacular views from the Mirador de los Reyes, explored the charming village of Ajuy and its famous caves, and concluded with the wonderful Sotavento lagoon, one of the most beautiful places in Fuerteventura. A special thanks to Juan, an exceptional guide: knowledgeable, passionate, friendly, and always available. Thanks to his explanations and professionalism, each stop was even more interesting and engaging. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone who wants to know the most authentic and spectacular side of Fuerteventura. An unforgettable experience that I would do again without hesitation!

Booked the South tour with Silvio our tour guide. He was outside waiting for us at our pick up hotel. I did not find him very friendly and came across as very arrogant. He came across as he had the answer for everything and during the tour would go all quiet and then staring talking again.. I felt as though the South tour was rushed and would have been nice a church as well. The caves was nice but the cheese farm was a bit boring. The beech was nice soromanto was nice. A would have much preferred a more friendly tour guide as you spending around 6/ 7 hours with them. Overall a nice day out to explore the south of the island .
First of all, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. However, Silvio has been working with us for many years, and this is the first time we have received feedback of this kind, as you can also see from previous reviews. Regarding the visit to the church, it is not part of our itinerary, as clearly stated in the detailed description of the tour you purchased. Thank you very much. Kind regards.
