Knowledge guides, our guide was a marine biologist. Amazing captain. He positioned us perfectly to see the whales and found a pod of dolphins as well!

Went on July 15th, 2026 with Matteo - funny guide but knowledgeable. Made a great effort to ensure we saw a lot of marine life while we were out! We saw a few Minke whales, a female humpback whale, 6+ seals, and went by Puffin’s Island where there were hundreds, if not, thousands, of them. Guides definitely know there’s a whale that hangs out in a certain spot so it seems likely that you’re able to see one. Bonded with some girls on board and had a great time! Highly recommend the RIB experience than other boats. They’re able to get close and adjust the view. You’re also only competing with a small group of people vs a large group on other boats.

We had such an amazing time with Gentle Giants that we actually did the tour twice—once at 4:30 PM and again at 8:30 AM the next day. Both trips were slightly different, which made doing it twice totally worth it. The first tour was laser-focused on finding the whales, while the morning tour included a really nice bonus trip around the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed the bay tour, though it was especially great because we had already had that dedicated whale-hunting focus the afternoon before. Don't let the pre-trip information scare you! The paperwork felt a bit like a waiver strongly suggesting we might not see anything, but our reality couldn't have been more different. We saw 3 humpback whales on the first trip and 3 on the second (4 unique whales in total across both trips!). We also saw plenty of dolphins, and the stop at Puffin Island was absolutely excellent. The crews were fantastic. Our first host was incredibly friendly, and our second was deeply knowledgeable. The RIB boats are worth every penny—they get you out to the prime locations incredibly fast. It was also great to see how well the different boats out there communicate with each other to share whale locations. An excellent, high-value experience all around!

Reserved our place online and paid on the day. Pleasant/ helpful shore team, and excellent guise and captain. The view of puffins was rather distant, but the advantages of being in a RIB were clear as we moved around following whales and dolphins. Had a full 2 hours on the water.

Well, it was a miracle that we made it in time for the tour because we thought the tour was later. We were on the last boat out on July 3rd, 2026. Fabio was our guide and Sarah our captain. These two awesome people made our tour phenomenal. Fabio is very knowledgeable and so easy to converse with. He filled in the waiting time with great info about the whales and Iceland. Sarah had great control of the boat and maneuvered it well. We saw a young female humpback breech about 6 times! Fabio and Sarah made a great team. Recommend Gentile Giant 100%.

The tour was amazing! We joined the 3:00 PM tour on July 17, 2026, and saw lots of puffins, dolphins, and whales. Everything was perfectly organized and very well taken care of.

Excellent experience at the 9:30 PM time slot. Numerous sightings, even up close, of whales, dolphins, and puffins. The guide was kind and professional.

I can't recommend this tour enough. We saw so many puffins and more whales than I could possibly count — I truly never expected to see this many! The tour flew by so fast, but I was captivated by every single minute. Seeing the whales up close was something I simply can't put into words. It was absolutely incredible. The whole experience exceeded every expectation I had, and it's a memory from Iceland I'll treasure forever. If you're in Húsavík, don't miss Gentle Giants. Truly outstanding!

We did the GG2 tour with Fabio as our guide, and we had a wonderful experience. Fabio was very knowledgeable and passionate about the natural environments. He was able to share interesting facts and answer all of our questions. It was great to see both the whales and the puffins, so I’d recommend GG2 for that reason (in the smaller, faster boats there is time for both). Also these boats can get to the whales more quickly before they dive down. Highly recommend Gentle Giants - the whole experience was well-run, from booking to check in, and of course the tour itself.

We went out on a mild sunny day. While the first hour brought zero whale sightings and I started losing hope, the second part of the trip brought some amazing encounters. We saw a shy humpback that wanted nothing to do with us, playful one that made noises and splashes and finally a resting whale that we spent around 20 mins watching. We were also followed by many white beaked dolphins. Our guide Miro was wonderful, couldn’t have asked for a more excited and informative person.
