Our driver and guide was Peter (the son). He was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and accommodating. He provided a lot of really interesting information about Oregon, Portland, all of the falls that we visited, and the Columbia River Gorge. He did not rush us, but kept the tour on track. I highly recommend the Oregon Tour Company for your excursion needs.
We had great experience and we love the that it was a family owned. Very informative and the tour hit all the popular waterfalls in Oregon.
My group had an excellent time on our tour with Peter. He was very knowledgeable about the Portland area and the waterfall area. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portland.
Wonderful way to view multiple waterfalls along scenic drive with excellent narration (clear & audible even in back of van) and care of riders. Tour operator/guide, Peter, was excellent. We highly recommend.
If you're even thinking about taking the Columbia River Gorge Waterfall Tour from Portland... stop thinking and book it! First, let's talk about our guide, Peter. I'm convinced he doesn't just know the Columbia River Gorge. He's on a first name basis with every tree, rock, waterfall, and probably a few squirrels too. Born and raised in the Portland area, his knowledge of the region was absolutely incredible. Every mile of the drive came with fascinating stories, local history, and fun facts that had us saying, "Wait... really?!" more times than I can count. The waterfalls? Absolutely breathtaking. Peter knew exactly where to stop, what to point out, and how to make each location feel special. Every stop was postcard worthy. Now for the part that really impressed me. I managed to become spectacularly sunburned (my own fault), and Peter genuinely looked out for me the rest of the tour, making sure I stayed in the shade whenever possible. That level of kindness isn't something you can teach. It's just who he is. The company itself is family owned by a father and son team, and it truly shows. Everyone we encountered cared about giving guests an unforgettable experience instead of making us feel like just another group on a bus. You can tell they love what they do, and that passion carries through every part of the tour. One tip for future guests: bring your own water, especially on warm days. You'll be glad you did while exploring the beautiful waterfalls and scenic stops. Peter, thank you for making our day unforgettable. You gave us stunning views, incredible history lessons, plenty of laughs, and somehow managed to keep me from turning into a human lobster. That's talent! If you want to see the Columbia River Gorge the right way, this is the tour to take. Ask for Peter if you can. You'll leave feeling like you've just toured the Gorge with your funniest, smartest friend.
Peter was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area, including history and plant life, and he shared information in an interactive way. He clearly loves his job. He tailored the trip to the group. Waterfalls and vistas were amazing.
I’d highly recommend this experiment if you want a half-day signature tour of the best waterfalls around Portland! Peter is also extremely knowledgeable about Portland history and all the small tips about wildlife. Love it!
Amazing tour. Enjoyed myself even as I was struggling through allergies - Peter provided us with so much information about local flora, fauna and history!
Peter delivered a great tour of the beautiful falls of the Gorge. He is knowledgeable about the falls and shares it with you. The bonus is his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area. We even got to see a trio of peregrine falcons battling in the air over a fish one had caught.
Don't miss this tour if you're visiting the area! The views are spectacular and pictures simply do not do it justice! Peter is a wonderful tour guide and his love of the area is apparent in his knowledge of the history and foliage.
