Do this tour!! Andy is a fantastic guide and took us on a wonderful journey through trendy neighborhoods, quiet local streets and along the river. We learnt tips and tricks about life in Tokyo and had delicious food and snacks along the way that we would have struggled to find without him. Thanks Andy!
Thank you Sarah!! It was fantastic meeting you both over here in Koenji on Monday! Really happy to hear that you enjoyed exploring this eclectic pocket of Tokyo and that you walked away with a few new 'tips and tricks'. I hope you're both enjoying the last of the stay and all the best to you both back in Sydney! Cheers, Andy!
Andy gave us the single most memorable of an overall fantastic trip to Japan. He shared with us his personal experiences living in Japan, took us on a tour of his neighborhood and beyond, and helped us interpret what we had seen and would see later on our trip. The ride itself was well planned out, easy and fun, almost exclusively on back roads, little alleys and paths, and through parks. The food was local and so tasty! I cannot recommend a bike tour with Andy strongly enough. Jeff and Carolyn, Newton, Massachusetts USA
Hi Jeff and Carolyn, Great to hear from you!! It was brilliant meeting you both out on the bikes back in May. Really happy that it was such a memorable experience for you both and that you enjoyed cycling a more local side of Tokyo. Thanks for all the interesting conversation and all the best to you both back in Massachusetts. I hope we get to cross paths again! Cheers, Andy!
This is not to be missed! A superb introduction to Japan and day to day life which left the bar very high for all other activities ! We were lucky enough to be on a private tour but with a mac group size of six it would still feel personal. Andy was terrific sharing so much info and detail around what life is like in Tokyo , giving us insight into education, buying houses, family life, love hotels …. And the food and drink side of things - all on a bike! Easy cycling through narrow streets and roads - never did we feel unsafe it was a very relaxed pace but we managed to cover the ground well and Andy was such a great guide . Thank you Andy . I will be recommending you to all or friends intending to visit Tokyo !!
Hi "kfitter", Really happy that we could finally make it work for your trip to Japan!!! It was brilliant meeting you both out on the bikes the other Sunday as we bounced around the neighbourhoods. Delighted to hear that it was a superb introduction to the city and that you enjoyed the personable nature of the ride. Thanks for the kind support and I hope you've both been having a blast touring the country together! Cheers, Andy!
Even with some rain a wonderful tour. You get to see a different part of Tokyo away from the crowds. Biking through the twistsy roads, seeing some sites, learning about life in the area, and eating good food! There aren’t many better ways to spend half a day.
Hi "R5330A", Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! Really happy to hear that you had a wonderful time out on the bikes despite the rain and that it was a great way to spend half a day here in Tokyo!! Cheers, Andy!
Great tour though a lesser known part of Tokyo. Andy is a very good guide; he shared lots of interesting facts about the area and Japanese culture. We definitely learned some new things! The food was tasty and unique. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun way to experience Tokyo life.

The best way to see a city- on a bike. Andy was an excellent guide. His bikes were comfy and my group of 8 (family) had no problems. We can all ride a push bike. He is very knowledgeable about the area and Japanese life in general. We had a great time, ages from 58 to 20. The snacks and lunch along the way were delicious. Lots of rest stops along the way. Definitely recommend for single, couples or a big family, like us. Thanks for taking care of us, Andy.
Hi Liz, thanks for the kind praise!! It was brilliant meeting you all out on the bikes last Thursday! Really happy to hear that the outing kept everyone happy, you guys were full of energy and absolutely fantastic! Thanks for recommending the Tokyo West-Side Cycling & Food Tour to future guests and I hope you're enjoying all that snow up in Hakuba! All the best to both you and the family, Andy!
I have done around 30 bike tours in my life, but Andy's one is definitely one of the best. I loved that bike tour, a really off the beaten path tour. We saw the real life of some less known quarters of Tokyo. We stopped at several places to get some delicious bites of the local cuisine. It was a very good and balanced mix of cycling, sightseeing, tastings and talking. Very safe cycling. No lunch was needed anymore. A very authentic and informative cycling tour. We could feel the vibes of Tokyo in an exciting way.
Hi Christian, Thanks again for coming out on the bikes the other week and for all the kind support!! Really honoured to hear that the Tokyo West-Side Cycling & Food Tour was up there with your favourite bike tours around the globe!! We couldn't have asked for a friendlier little group that morning or better weather for the ride. All the best to you back in Budapest and I look forward to crossing paths again either there or back in Tokyo for round 2 out on the bikes. Cheers, Andy!
This was a fantastic tour. It was me and my 20 year old son Jack. Really well thought through and organised. Andy was so friendly and knowledgable. He covered so many interesting things about living in Tokyo that you just wouldn’t get on a big tour. A highlight was the local lunch. Can’t recommend this highly enough if you like to get get to know a city and get away from just the main tourist attractions.
Hi Andrew, Thanks again for coming out on the bikes last Monday, it was brilliant riding with Jack and yourself over this side of Tokyo!! Really happy to hear that you enjoyed the light hearted conversation and that the simple local lunch was a winner!! Hope you're all enjoying Nozawa Onsen together and we get to cross paths again! Cheers, Andy!
What a way to learn about Tokyo and Japan! Andy is an absolute gun, we had a blast on our tour. He’s lovely, fun and so generous with his time. Great for experiencing Tokyo as a local! Exactly what we were looking for and would recommend it for everyone that passes through Tokyo.
Hi Tahlia, Thanks for taking the time to leave such a kind comment during your busy holiday, you're a legend! All the best to you both back home and with the planning for the next epic getaway! Cheers, Andy!
Lots of bike riding. Shared a good history of the area and Japanese culture, very personable guide and fluent in English.
