Vlad was a great, entertaining tour guide. Seeing Marie Antoinette’s hamlet was definitely a highlight. The grounds are beautiful. Would not recommend on a very hot day. We chose a bike tour because my daughter has limited walking mobility and this was a LOT more walking than I expected from a “bike tour.” (It took her a full day to recover and she also skipped walking through the chateau (palace), which is at the end and a ton more walking after the hamlet. If you’re up for a lot of walking (plus some easy biking), this is a fabulous option.
Our guide, Annie was amazing! She gave us great information throughout the tour. I would definitely book another tour with this company and especially with Annie.
This was a trip highlight for us. We felt like we got to explore so much more ground without wearing ourselves out, than we would have if we had walked. The weather was very hot so being on bike helped. Our guide Eric, was amazing. (I forgot to do this review right away but he made such an impression that we all remembered his name 2 weeks later). He was full of information and kept the group together but didn't push anyone out of their comfort zone - it was an enjoyable pace. We debated taking the longer day tour and having picnic and spending more time in the town, but because of the heat - decided 4 hours was enough. My 14 and 16 year olds loved everything about it. The tour goes through the gardens and grounds and then after you've returned the bikes Eric walked us up to the gates and we toured the inside of the castle on our own. There are two routes you can tour the inside and we took the shorter of the two and then went to dinner in town at a place Eric recommended. It ended up being a very full day but one we all very much enjoyed.
Relaxed, friendly and very informative , felt very comfortable being on my own. Hadn’t ridden a bike for quite a few years but I needn’t have worried.
Eric our guide was amazing! I highly recommend and wish Eric was our guide for all of our tours. Excellent experience.
We had a wonderful time on the tour! Biking is a great way to cover a lot of ground around the garden. We had multiple stops where information was shared. Bikes were in great shape and we always felt safe. Eric was a knowledgeable guide!
This was a lovely experience and perfect for learning about Versailles and the history of the people from the palace. Biking was very doable and was kept at a great pace for ages 13 and up (probably younger as well; we had older folks in the tour as well, and they did great). We saw so much more of the grounds than we would have otherwise (especially with unusually high temperatures; in the 90s in late May (warning: global warming is real and connected to human activities). The sites were incredibly beautiful, as well. Our tour guide (Rory) was very friendly, fun, patient, and made our experience extremely pleasant. We were so glad to be working with him and very impressed how enthusiastic and knowledgeable he was, considering that it was both his birthday and his first day on the job!!
We really enjoyed our cycle tour. Our guide, OJ, was brilliant - he explained everything clearly (route, safety etc), knew the history, answered questions and made everyone feel included and welcome. It was lovely cycling in the park and seeing the gardens and village. It is worth knowing you cycle about 4k; and that while the cycle tour is about 4 hours, you then have a self-guided tour of Versailles palace afterwards (which can take 1.5 hours). The company were helpful beyond the tour - we could leave our bags there during the ride, and OJ gave advice on onward travel. The only negative was that Versailles palace itself was very crowded, but that wasn't the responsibility of the tour company!
Perfect pace and duration. Our guide Rory was an absolute pro and truly made the history of Versailles come alive. Can’t recommend highly enough!
The only way to see Versailles. Excellent communication from the tour company and our guide Erik was so knowledgeable, organized and thoughtful. Would 100% recommend!
