This was a highlight of our trip to California! We had an unscheduled day in Solvang before attending a family wedding, and we found this bike tour. It was a delightful surprise for me and my husband. We chose the e-bikes, and it made the ride so relaxing and fun. The e-bikes are worth the extra cost, unless you are a seasoned rider. Our guide, Mike, was wonderful, outgoing, friendly, and knowledgeable he made the experience memorable. We traveled into the beauty and majesty of the area, including the Figueroa mountain road. It really took our breath away at points. The olive oil + lavender farm was a fun stop. Our lunch at Rideau vineyards was so relaxing and enjoyable. Riding bikes through an area like the Santa Ynez valley really adds a unique perspective and enhances the experience. My husband and I are 65 and 70, in relatively good shape, and we found this enough of a challenge, and yet easy enough that we could take in all of the beauty surrounding us. We would do it again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend Wine Country Cycling Tours!
I booked this tour with great enthusiasm but then I got worried I wasn’t going to be able to able to keep up. We should not have worried we had the booked the electric bikes and we did great even going up hills. Corey was wonderful always checking in with us and giving us great direction. The first part of the ride is seeing sites and getting history about the area. Our first location stop was at the olive and lavender farm and to some people heaven is pearly gates and harps my heaven would be this farm and the country music they had playing in the background. Wow this place is so beautiful! I could have hung out there all day! The next stop was at Roblar’s winery where we did a taste and was served a 5 star lunch. Then a little tour of the property and then back on the bikes for the short ride back to our starting location. If you are looking for a tour that isn’t cookie cutter and so unexpected fun take this tour you will love it!
We had a great time! Loved that the tour was private so that we could go at our own pace. The olive oil tasting and winery were both delicious and beautiful settings. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel very safe on the roads.
Relaxing morning biking around Sante Ynez area. Finished by lunch and wine tasting at Rideau vineyard. We were by ourselves as a group with our guide Mike. I believe it is also possible to alternate the experience a bit if you wish to.
Great time riding around and learning the history of the city. Scott was very nice and knowledgeable. The winery we went to was super cute and delicious. We had a minor accident and the team responded fast and very helpful. Highly recommend if you are in the area .
The guide was very friendly, pleasant and patient. Beautiful bike ride through beautiful country with breathtaking views. Also, Corey the tour operator, is a very honest guy who genuinely wants his customers to have a great experience for their money. I would highly recommend this company based on this alone since it seems this is a dying philosophy these days.
This was such a great way to tour the area and learn a lot in the process. Chris was a wonderful guide!
Beautiful countryside and great to learn more about the history of the area with Chris, our friendly and expert guide. Very organized and well managed for the time we had. Wine tasting was delish and fun to a smaller winery. E-bikes make it a breeze!
We had a group of 10 people, friends and family, of all fitness levels, and each one of us LOVED this tour. 3 people had e-bikes, the rest of us regular bikes, and it was easy and fun to stay together. I can't decide if the highlight of the tour was the scenery, the history, the olive oil tasting, the wine tasting/lunch, or Dennis and Scott, our incredibly generous, informative, helpful guides. The ride was mostly easy with some moderate inclines throughout. Thank you, SB Wine Country Cycling Tours - you are an easy recommendation, and we will be back!
This tour was simply perfect! Scott and Denis were the warmest, most capable and informative guides. The route was gorgeous. Figueroa mountain road has breathtaking views, an easy terrain and lots of room to ride with ease. E-bikes were optional, and not necessary if you’re comfortable riding a bike in easy- moderate terrain. The breaks were timed perfectly, and the food was delicious. They even surprised us with cupcakes for my sister’s birthday celebration. We felt like we were long lost friends with our guides at the end of our tour. We all want to come back and bring all our friends!
