From start to finish this was a great day. Even though I have never watched an episode of Downton Abbey I bought this as a gift for my mum who is a fan but I enjoyed the day just as much as her. The tour guide Jed was absolutely brilliant and a real credit to your company. Full of knowledge and always on hand for answering any questions. Will definitely look to see if there are any other trips that would be of any interest to us.
Very good experience and Russell was a great guide!
It was a fantastic day, the guide was very interesting, knowledgeable and friendly.
We met with our guide in London, no issues, joining instructions were very clear. Loved the smaller size coach, very comfortable. However, coach broke down 35 mins into the day and we spent 2 hrs waiting for a replacement (bigger and much less comfy) coach. Some tour companies may have short changed us as a result of this delay, but our Guide Rory, very much saved the day with his very pleasant and caring manner, clear commentary, thorough knowledge of the tour subject matter and lots of additional interesting snippets. We took in the village we should have seen in the morning, on the way home, with Rory leading a lovely walking tour around all the relevant bits. Downside was that everything in the village was shut, and we arrived back in London nearly 2 hrs late. So, if you book, don't make evening arrangements 🙂 Overall, very happy with our day!
Loads to see. So much information! Backpacks and photography not allowed in the house. Huge gift shop. Lots of treats and drink options. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained.
Although we had the unfortunate experience of the coach breaking down, Rory our guide, was fantastic. We still had a great day even if it was a long day . Rory is full of knowledge, on alot of subjects and a really nice guy . Also our recovery driver Dave who came to the rescue in couple of hours, giving up his day off to give us a great trip. Thank you both.
The village was adorable. I’d like to live there! Claremont castle looked just like the show and now I need to rewatch with the rooms in mind.
Our guide, Russell, made the experience extra special. Wonderful experience for DA fans!
Wonderful experience! Had a great travel guide who helped us understand everything! Nice bus ride into the country!
A magical day exploring ‘Downton Abbey’ locations and of course Highclere Castle. The meeting point was easy to find and the bus arrived 10 minutes before the allocated time to begin. Once we were all checked in Michael our guide and Tony our driver got us underway, Michael was very informative, entertaining and clear about our itinerary for the day. Our first stop was a comfort stop with plenty of food options and restrooms before heading to Bampton. Whilst there is some food in Barton and Highclere we were glad we bought some sandwiches and a drink whilst there were lots of options. A guided tour in Bampton was fabulous and then onto Highclere which was just perfect. We had plenty of time to explore the surrounds and the visit inside. Finishing with a Highclere Gin before travelling back to London. Michael had a special treat up his sleeve for the ride back to enjoy and relive the magic of Downton Abbey. A must tour for any Downton Abbey fan.
