Accepting that our visit was during the hostilities in the Middle East, but with a number of tourist sites open as usual (shopping malls, Sheikh Zayed mosque, and Louvre), we checked carefully if services were showing as operating as normal on the company’s web site. It specifically said they were, gave a timetable, and allowed tickets to be purchased. We used an Uber from Saadiyat Island to arrive 15 minutes prior to the 1000 green route departure from Abu Dhabi Mall. No services were operating, but there was nobody at the scheduled pick up point, or large sales stand inside the mall. Nobody answered the phone. We fully accept the difficulties of operating within the current tensions, but at least have your website updated, suspend ticket sales, answer the phone, and have just one staff member on hand at the main pick up point to support customers arriving for the services.

I had a lovely day out with Big Bus Tours. From the nice lady explaining the routes and stops to me outside Abu Dhabi Mall. To all the drivers who were all nice and friendly. I really wanted to find the Observation Deck at the Etihad Towers. And their driver Raju on his own break. Very kindly walked me there from the bus stop. So thank you Raju much appreciated. I paid 344 AED, $135 AUD for an 1:50hr tour. I didn’t realise until I got on at 3:30 the guide told us that it was the last bus, & we shouldn’t get off, just stay onboard until we reach the mall again. So I had just paid full price for a round trip. It was a mistake & didn’t realise it. However the map I was given suggested other time frames. Completely got ripped off, & didn’t enjoy it because I didn’t quite get the full experience of all the places, including the free mosque tour I paid for. A taxi ride would’ve been a much cheaper alternative.
