I had a really lovely time, I felt incredibly welcome. The tour was great, I loved meeting the community and getting involved in practical activities including drum and soap workshops. The village tour was also really lovely for learning about the local culture.
Nice informative tour around whole site .really gave an insight into what the staff and volunteers do to help local children and villages . The tour guide was good and did a great job .
Fabulous place and great people. It was a wonderful idea to establish such a wonderful place for everyone who is looking for something different experience specially who loves the nature and animals. They know what they are doing and introduced us with a new term called perms culture.Basically,Who ever is working over there and whoever mamade and makes efforts over there deserve more than thanks. They are really lovely people.Plus,it is environmentally friendly.Almost zero carbon consumption.Every single thing is to woth to experience. Thanks to Hatice who established this place from scratch. She deserves the best. Highly highly recommended.
We went there in December and the manager personally took us trough a tour in the community village explaining everything and answering every question. It is an amazing place for both village and nature. The really work for a good purpose and they are making a big difference helping the local needing people to get a school education and develop useful skills to get a job and be able to provide for themselves and their families. They also have two huge mind blowing tree houses they use to educational purposes. Last but not least they are spreading the permaculture knowledge in order to get conscious citizens when it comes to environment impact. We enjoyed the tour and also had a great lunch with them. Thank you all!
I visited Assalam Community Foundation during my time in Zanzibar. They are doing great job in terms of education and women empowerment. There is a beautiful community school with a lot of opportunities for childiren, women sewing workshop, permaculture garden. You can learn and witness all that NGO has been doing there. We got to meet the founder of the NGO also. She explained how her Africa story started which was very inspirational. We stayed for Swahili cooking class and that was amazing as well. It was really fun to prepare food with local women who are really sincere. We enjoyed our lunch with a beautiful view from Jetsi area.
Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure for us to have the tour with you.
