En esta excursión nos dirigiremos a la provincia de Orense para visitar un lugar muy especial, la conocida como Ribeira Sacra . Cuna del arte religioso medieval de esta provincia , y del gastronómico , fue en la Edad Media y Moderna cuando gozó de su período dorado . Reflejo de aquellos tiempos es la numerosa arquitectura religiosa con la que cuenta , como el monasterio de Santo Estevo o San Pedro de Rocas, ambos de gran belleza . Sus paisajes naturales , con grandes áreas de robledales , nos sumergen en un ambiente que nos retrotrae al pasado . Sin contar con que esta área es famosa por ser la zona de una de las denominaciones de origen más famosas de España , la del Riveiro . Todo a apenas un par de horas de la ciudad de Santiago .

Itinerario
En la siguiente parada nos adentraremos en plena Ribeira Sacra para realizar un interesante paseo en catamarán . Desde nuestro barco podremos observar la conocida como “viticultura heroica” , que debe su nombre a lo escarpado de donde crecen los viñedos del Ribeiro que rodean el paso del río Sil. Aquí está incluído el tiempo que tardaremos para trasladarnos de un sitio a otro
Siguiendo el Sil avanzaremos hacia uno de los miradores más increíbles de la zona desde el que podremos disfrutar de unas espectaculares vistas. Aquí está incluído el tiempo que tardaremos para trasladarnos de un sitio a otro
Visitaremos el monasterio de San Pedro de Rocas donde se podrán visitar los sepulcros antropomorfos, la fachada de la iglesia del siglo XIX, su campanario y la fuente de San Benito
Se visitará el pueblo de Allariz, uno de los pueblos más encantadores de Galicia. Gracias a una visita guiada, se podrán descubrir la historia de este pueblo y sus leyendas.

A tour of the river Sil, very beautiful in nature and the sea, vineyards, I liked it very much, recommended. But in a town in the area like Allariz
The tour guide was very good but the tour was not what I expected. The boat on the Sil river did not show all the vineyards planted from the top of the mountain down to river,the boat did not continue. The mirador was not that great and two tours arrived at same time leaving little time to take pictures The lunch stop was terrible. We got to a town at 3 pm which all restaurants were closed and only one was recommended by guide. It was a horrible one. The monastery was nothing great they should have taken people to the St Estero which is a beautiful one and had given option to have lunch at the parador which would have been better or just skip lunch and get back to Santiago earlier. Also ship should have stopped or bus taken group to a vineyard which was not done. Maybe skip lunch and do wine tasting at vineyard Very disappointed since the area is spectacular. Copy what the Portuguese do in Porto on the Douro cruise

Beautiful scenery the canyons amazing. Ana our tour guide was excellent very good explanation in English. Driver excellent too. My third trip with Galicia Travels, highly recommended.

Fantastic viewpoints of the canyon. Several stopping points where you can enjoy the excellent view. The best, surrounded by vineyards
