Las cuevas de Kanheri son un grupo de cuevas y monumentos excavados en la roca que se forman en un macizo afloramiento de basalto en los bosques del Parque Nacional Sanjay Gandhi, en la isla de Salsette, en las afueras del oeste de Mumbai, India. Contienen esculturas budistas y grabados en relieve, pinturas e inscripciones, que datan del siglo I aC al siglo X antes de Cristo. Thoroughly fascinating tour! The history of the building of the caves and changes through the centuries is remarkable and the tour is a must see for Mumbai. They made the entire experience more efficient, from pickup to park access. Professor Jagdish provided great insights and had answers to my many questions about the park. The Kanheri Caves tour was lovely. My driver Dinesh and tour guide Ravi were very kinda ND shared a wealth of knowledge about the history of the site and Mumbai. I felt very safe as a solo traveler. A must see destination when visiting Mumbai

I highly recommend this tour with Ravi! He was so knowledgeable and passionate, answered all my questions and walked us through at a good pace to get to truly experience it all. I learned so much, and enjoyed the beauty of the caves and the views out over the park. My driver, Dinesh, was on time, smooth and gave me lots of information about Mumbai and the areas we were driving through to get to the park! All around a great experience!!

Rovi and Lucas were great. They together made the drive to the site smooth and interesting. Rovi did a great job explaining the history of the caves. The caves weren’t super crowded and we really enjoyed being able to explore at our own pace. Highly recommend!

I took the tour on a Sunday morning in Monsoon with a charming and very knowledgeable guide called Kavitha. Kavitha gave an excellent explanation of the history of the caves and was able to answer all my questions. Whilst there were a lot of visitors it was wonderful to find an oasis of nature in Mumbai. Highly recommended!
