We had a marvellous trip out with Tim on a sunny and calm winter morning. We were also lucky that it was just the two of us, so it very much felt like a private tour. Having hiked to Cathedral Cove the day before, it was fabulous to see the land formations from a different perspective, but the best part of this trip was visiting incredible caves and other land formations along the coast. Tim had some interesting histories to share, and the water was so crystal clear that we could easily see different types of fish, too. No seals were out sunbathing during our visit, though we did see some very large cormorants in the trees, on rocks, and fishing in the waters. Truly a magnificent hour on the water, and we highly recommend seeing this beautiful part of the world from a different perspective.

Tim was an awesome guide and took us to amazing places along the coast. The Zodiac boat keeps you close to the water and lets you get up close to AMAZING coastal features - we were blown away by what Tim took us to see!!! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND - this was a major highlight of our trip to New Zealand. The ride was only an hour long but seemed much longer and can't believe all we got to see and experience! EPIC BOAT TOUR - highly recommend. There was a young boy on our boat and he laughed and giggled the whole time, it was so much fun **********10 STARS

Our day was great, Chris our skipper was very informative & friendly, Seas were a little choppy so Chris was very safety conscious & didn’t land on the beach at Cathedral Cove but was still spectacular looking from the water. Would recommend this tour.

A breathtaking ride from start to finish! Great seas and weather as we travelled to Cathedral Cove, around the Poikeke Arch and Mahurangi Island into 3 different sea caves. Fed fish and saw seals sunning themselves. But the coastline and the caves were truly stunning. The company and our skipper were great and helpful as some of our travel group had mobility issues and getting in and of the rubber dinghy's was tricky.

Great trip. Starts with Cathedral Cove and then just gets better. Excellent guide very friendly and knowledgeable. Small boat so can get into places bigger boats can't. Good fun, highly recommend.

We took our visiting family out on the Hahei Explorer boat trip and it ended up being the absolute highlight of their trip! The scenery along the coastline is incredible and seeing places like Cathedral Cove from the water was something really special. The skipper was fantastic; super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience fun while sharing lots of interesting information about the area. Our whole group loved it; from our 3-year-old right through to the 60-year-old. It was the perfect mix of sightseeing, adventure, and learning about the beautiful Coromandel coastline. If you have visitors in town or just want to experience the coastline from a different perspective, I’d highly recommend Hahei Explorer. Such a memorable experience!

This is a not to miss boat tour. Amazing sites to see, caves, blowholes and ride below a fault line!!! Our guide Tim was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. 100% recommend.

What an amazing experience, highly recommend. Booking process was straightforward and Hahei Explorer Team were flexible in allowing me to amend booking. All communications were clear & concise. On arrival at the beach we were greeted by lovely girl ( sorry forgot her name) & the gorgeous Maple her golden retriever/ red setter cross. Life vest on, shoes off & dry bag provided we got aboard and were introduced to Scotty. The next hour flew past as Scotty expertly navigated through small tunnels / caves all whilst providing a really informative explanation of the volcanic activity that has produced this stunning coastline. The boat fits 10 passengers and can travel at high speed providing an exhilarating ride. Book this trip you won't be disappointed.
