Se necesitaron 70.000 trabajadores de la construcción y 8.000 millones de dólares de capital de inversión para construir el famoso hilo de plata de 4 pies que se abre paso a través de 800 millas de desierto de Alaska para llegar a las sedientas refinerías del país, cruzando cordilleras, zonas de terremotos, permafrost y ríos. Unas 420 millas del oleoducto están elevadas (con 554 cruces de animales), y fuera de Fairbanks es el lugar para verlo. Mientras observas, considera esto: Cada hora, más de un millón de dólares de oro negro fluye a través de ella.
Desde Fairbanks, la Elliot Highway lo lleva unas 73 millas al norte hasta el inicio de la Dalton Highway, atravesando colinas de bosque boreal de abedules y álamos y valles de tundra de arroyos y pequeños ríos. Cruzará el poderoso río Yukón y pasará por el valle hasta la montaña Finger, un punto alto sin árboles con cortas pasarelas y quioscos para aprender sobre la geología y la tundra alpina de la región. El círculo polar ártico cuenta con baños y una zona de picnic.
Pararemos dos veces en el campamento del río Yukón. La primera vez es para combustible y baño cuando vamos al norte. Volveremos a parar para cenar de regreso del Círculo Polar Ártico. Este campamento tiene una excelente ubicación en el puente del río Yukón en la autopista Mile 56 Dalton. El menú de invierno del Yukon River Noodle House incluye sándwiches Bahn Mi recién hechos y sopas de fideos de relleno.
Situado a 66o33’ – el Círculo Polar Ártico marca el lugar donde el 21 de junio no se pone el sol y el 21 de diciembre no sale el sol. Su guía celebrará con usted cuando haga esta travesía y le entregará su Certificado oficial del Círculo Polar Ártico.

Fairbanks was another stop for dinner and sleep because our route was to Prudhoe Bay. But the Pikes Hotel is quite interesting.
A trip through Alaska, meeting various biosystems at the end of winter and early spring. WONDERFUL. I recommend everyone who can.
It was a great tour with a fantastic guide. It was a very scenic ride with multiple stops. We got to see the Alaska pipeline. Our driver and guide, Cody, was very personable, friendly, and accommodating. Getting to go to the Artic Circle was an amazing experience. We were able to see 2 moose and a bunch of ptarmigans. This tour was well worth it!!
Nick was amazing throughout the tour. We were able to capture wonderful pictures. And the cherry on the top was to get the arctic circle certificate. Would recommend 10/10
If you love nature and seeing some of the amazing Alaska landscapes, plus the thrill of seeing the Alaska pipeline, as well as the trip’s feature—the Arctic Circle, you will love this trip. Our driver/guide was awesome and well informed. Pick this experience—you will be glad you did.
The time does not benefit customers. If we starting is one or two hours late. We can see Northern Lights on the way back. I will recommend others tour companies that we met on the way. They started at 11 or 12 PM to friends.
Our driver Nick was amazing. We had so many questions and he did his best to answer them all. Our 8yo asked a lot of questions and Nick was very patient and kind to him. When you are on a van for 12 hours, it is nice to have.a great driver. The trip had a lot of great highlights, beautiful Alaskan sites, ptarmigans, feeding the grey jays at the circle, walking on the frozen Yukon River and even seeing the Norther Lights on the way back. Not the most spacious van, legs were very achy by the end, but worth it. Needed lots of warm layers as you are on and off a warm van into the -20 degree weather with wind. Thanks Nick! Well, it is a long drive but through some beautiful country! The van was super big and comfortable and Nick, our driver and guide was the best!! Really caref that we got to see what we wanted to, never got tired of questions, just super nice!
It was a very great experience, our driver/guide (Nick) was so patient and knowledgeable about the place. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Very scenic. Some of the things like snow covered trees need to be seen to be believed (like 3 feet of snow precariously held up by pine trees). Lots of cool wild life and just interesting in general. Host was very knowledgeable and van was comfortable. The company had plastic inserts in the windows that eliminated frosted windows (limits deposition frosting).
